Re: Cool N Quiet

i'll just keep it enabled then...if i can save some money a month then i'll get a little extra to spend on some modding stuff maybe..

and i'm using the boxed cooling solution.
So if i upgrade to a decent ~$40 HS/F, can i run that at low-ish speeds and keep my idle temps around the same, minus C'N'Q?

Cool N Quiet

i decided to disable CNQ to see if it would help performance (and it did), but even though my 955BE is running at full power all the time, if i keep my fan speed around 3400RPM then there's no noticeable difference in temperature. i'm wondering if this will kill the processor if i keep my settings a...

Re: Post Your Rig!

wait, 500w seems fine if it can power my own rig.

AMD Phenom II X4 955
Radeon HD 4850 512MB
ASUS M4A79X EVO
4GB OCZ AMD Black Edition DDR3 1600
Caviar Green 500GB
LG DVD-R, DVD-RW 24X
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W

been working since march, and i don't need to enter the chimera contest.

Re: Cases!

i'm using a NZXT Lexa S and it's a fantastic case. airflow is good, but your motherboard needs 4 3-pin fan connectors if you want to fully utilize every one of the included fans.

Re: Temps

my processor is fine...but my HSF sounds like a wind tunnel fan or something. is 4750-5200 RPM normal? i installed the EPU-4 engine that came with my M4A79X EVO and it's set to high performance. on max. power saving the fan only goes about 1000RPM.
