Re: I want a remote!

My computer is NOT an out-of-the-box HTPC. Does that mean I'm screwed? I want something where I can change songs, alter the volume etc. I was looking at the Harmony line, but I don't have an IR port/bay/thing on my desktop. What can I buy to add this functionality? Ithink the harmony 720 is one of ...

Re: The AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core TL60

I'm asking for opinions here. Has anybody got this? I'm considering it for a notebook computer, and I'd like some input from someone who's been there. (I don't want Intel; Intel screwed me way back when, in their marketing of the Celeron 1.7 with its 128 KB L2 cache—and I never go back to be cheate...

Re: high 7 or low 8?

yup yup with the prices of the 7900 now (can be found for around 100$ after rebates) i say go for that, then upgrade to the 8800 once dx10 becomes mainstreamed (or stay with the 7900 since i heard theres a dx10 patch for xp coming soon)

Re: 4800+ x2 s939 shutdown problems

First check the temps on the cpu / board. See if its hardware related. Make sure you pass Memtest for 6+ hours. Then Prime95 both cores for as long as you can. If its stable for both test, then it might be software related. If it is software related, check the event viewer to check for any errors. A...

Re: Brand new System- Need OC/Optimization advice

ati tools should work with nvidia cards for oc'ing. and btw, with 400$, u can just upgrade the mobo and cpu to a c2d system and throw the rest on a 8800 card or the newer ati xt cards (if you count selling ur cpu, mobo, and video card + leftover funds from upgrading) but the 7900 should be enough fo...

Anyone else out there playing this? Finally a good RTS after Company of Heroes. I find myself playing 2-3 hours per level on hard. So far I've beaten Aeon and Cybrans on hard and now playin UEF. Hopefully CnC3 will come out soon after I beat this. Keep me busy :drinkers:

Have you memtested and stuff? Could be that, or the cpu could be going. If you decide to get a new mobo, you could sell that one on ebay, provided you tell your problems, of course. :P As far as NF2/Socket A boards go, that one is the most sought after. never knew alot of people wanted it. i have t...

the ram might be your problem. even if it is overclockable to 250mhz, i suggest leaving it at 200mhz using dividers and find your highest fsb first, burn it in, and then start toying with the ram.
