Re: New Case

Ok so after a lot (and I looked at well over 200 cases) I have found and ordered a new PC case. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thermaltake-Commander-USB-Snow-Edition/dp/B006JQZ8MY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359982819&sr=8-1 I shall update with pics and such when it is here and everything is installed Neptune24

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Smartphone Screen Bleeding

The "Bleeding" is easy enough to see. But as you said a phone that new shouldn't be doing things like that. And I have to say that as a faithful Samsung user I don't get any issues with phones for about a year. Then when I do have issues it's more to do with the amout of battering the phone gets. I'...

Re: Windows 8 preview

I haven't used Windows 8 but still, The main issue I think Windows 8 has is that it combines mobiles, tablets, laptops, desktops and the consoles all into one operating system. (I am still waiting for them to update the 360. Wouldn't put it past them) While on the surface (no pun intended) this is a...

Re: Horrid slow boot time!

Well I found this one day. http://www.auslogics.com/en/turbo-windows/ There is a chapter or two about boot time decrease. But it also has a lot of other useful things too. Doesn't go into exactly how to do things within Vista too much but gives you the gist. If all else fails, as others have said mo...

Re: Programs That Aren't Needed

Never found the option in the BIOS.

And I have kept @BIOS for that reason.

Everything else is gone.

Re: Gaming at 1920x1080 HD Resolutions

No I have an apt screen.

If I get a bigger one I would have to move the speakers.

Having said that I might look ionto getting a TV. Great picture and great audio.

Re: saved games

I went through the same sort of thing. What I did was locate the save files and transferred them to a memory stick (in a foldrer named after the game the file was taken from). Installed the games where I desired them to be. went into the game and played long enough for a save to be created and then ...

Re: Gaming at 1920x1080 HD Resolutions

I just use which ever happens to be native to the game that I am playing at the time.

I will say that when I do adjust the res it does end up at 1920 x 1080.

Re: Raspberry PI

Well the media server can be done with 2 of these (there is a blog about it somewhere online)

And that is what I will be working out how to do as well as the RAM.

Re: Programs That Aren't Needed

Ok so finally got round to doing a full backup and have uninstalled most of the listed programs (and a lot of other ones).

I was just wondering though, the ON OFF Charge, is that what allows me to cherge things via the USB port when the PC is turned off??

Not sure I would use it as a media server.

Though I have just thought of the first project I could look into. Hooking up some more RAM somehow.

Re: Raspberry PI

That is a bit on the expensive side. I was thinking of getting one for learning to program and learn a bit about Linux. It does hold the advantage of being so cheap as well once you have all the bits after the first major purchase, if things go wrong it's just another £35 (or £15 if it's the SD card...

Re: Raspberry PI

I will say that if it wasn't about £40 I wouldn't be thinking about it as I'm not at that sort of level.

But as it is so cheap, I am considering one.

Re: Need New Office Software

Reviving a dead post.

First Google docs is ok but rather limited.

And everytime I download and install Libreoffice, it crashes halfway through installation or tells me that it failed because there is no space on the HDD which is a lie as the is over 100gb of space.

Programs That Aren't Needed

Hi Guys.

I have a few programs on my computer that seem rather useless to me. I was wondering if indeed they are rubbish or do provide some sort of service.

They are as follows:

Browser Config Utility
Easy Tuner
Easy Saver
ESN Sonar
My Free Codec
ON OFF Charge
Auto Green
@BIOS

Re: seagate external drive wont back things up

I'm gonna go with Majar_A on this one.

Where windows 8 is new it might just be that seagate hasn't got the drivers released yet. But I don't think the "shoddy install" is any help.
