Re: 1st BSOD In Years

OK poking about in the log files (and not being allowed to open the dump files) it would seem that a bug check was the issue.

To what this actually means I have not the foggiest but so far (touch wood) it hasn't happened again.

1st BSOD In Years

Hi guys, Ok so my girlfriend was playing her game (Sims 3) and the computer blue screened. Now this is the first one I have seen in years so some questions. Does windows create a log when this happens? If it does, where can I find it? And if the GPU gets too warm can this cause a BSOD? Will update a...

Re: Wireless Router Help...

Well I personally would go with Dlink. I get very little issues with the products and a long life from them. As for the home theatre have you thought about power ethernet adapters. http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-DHP-P307AV-Through-PowerLine-Homeplug/dp/B003SOWWX8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1340399886&sr...

Ok thank you but I am going to replace the RAM anyway fairly soon. So once I have done that, I shall do some memory tests.

Re: POST Crashing?

Ok so development on this issue. It stopped doing this all the time but still quite often. But the other day I opened her up removed a stick of RAM, to see the spec of said RAM and then popped the it back in. So the RAM was out for about 30 seconds and, as always when I open the tower up, unplugged ...

Re: New Case

I know that's why I'm looking for a new desk. But surely if the gap is big enough then air would still circulate.

Having said that, I'm all for advice so what sort of desk should I be looking for??

Re: New Case

Ok to help I have done this. 20120615_180545 2.jpg As you can see the tower is too big for the gap it is meant to go in and there are two main issues with it where it is. 1. Because of the support board at back of desk, I can't push it all the way back (power cable) 2. Because of point one, I consta...

Re: New Case

Yep have done that though the filters.

I have found a couple of cases that have caught my eye. Just wondering how important a side fan is?? Will it make any difference once the cables are out of the way??

Need New Office Software

Hi Guys, For a few years now I have been using Open Office, but it keeps crashing and is starting to get annoying. I have uninstalled and reinstalled (to the latest version) twice now and it seems to have made things worse. So as i refuse to pay for software (especially Microsoft), I am after a free...

Re: Rush PC Build

You can often get a pre-build system for way less than something you got to build. I have to agree. Though looking for a motherboard with the RAM and CPU then the other bits will also save time and money. I don't know if they do next day delivery, but you might also want to look at ebuyer as they a...

Re: WD-40 The Duct Tape of Liquids

Hmm note to self, where there is a wasp nest there will be WD-40, or Duck oil which so far as I know is the same.
And as a bonus, if they happen to be building a nest near squeaky hinges they too will be sorted.
