Overclocking temperature changes?

I was wondering when you are overclocking a processor (i think i'll be looking into OCing my q6600) what are the main things that increase the temperature. I.e. when you overclock is it mainly the voltage.. and therefore if the voltage remained the same would the temp increase at all? Also whats the...

I'd go with a dual core.. i have a quad and it runs pretty hot meaning that you are more limited in your overclocking ability and with games currently i would say the speed boost on the 2 cores offers a bigger benefit By the time the game really utilise the 4 cores (not just pass some of the work to...

I imagine it has to have some sort of input plug to go with the monitor (i.e. feeding back inputs to the pc) rather then just the one that is outputing the information from the pc to the monitor.

What fan would you go with on the 120 extreme?
I'd say you'd need around a 2000rpm fan.. though i know its the cfm thats more important

Does anyone know if there are some upcoming heatsinks etc.. that it might be worth waiting for not in that much of a rush.

FWIW, I completely hosed an install of Vista by installing a codec pack, wouldn't let me open half the stuff in the control panel anymore, didn't have enough patience to figure out exactly what went wrong, so I just re-installed the OS and didn't use the codec pack anymore. was that codec pack this...
