Re: Overclocking Question?
Your E8500 should be good for atleast 3.6-3.7ghz on stock voltage, so I'd say 380-400FSB is a good place to start.

Re: Money Saving!
I am not sure about the exchange rates and whatnot, but I can tell you that overseas shipping as well as possible warranty issues could be a pain... I'm not sure if I would do it even if it meant saving a few pounds, just to avoid the possible headaches.

Re: My HTPC Project..
All looks good except for the keyboard mouse combo you chose. The range on that is probably only 1m~, as it is 27mhz instead of 2.4Ghz RF. If you plan on using the keyboard/mouse from your couch, you need 2.4ghz RF, or bluetooth.

Re: Recommendations for a HTPC
Well if you aim for low power, you will naturally get a quiet PC. An e4850 and a mATX 780G mobo seems to be the best option ATM, you could probably buy a Scythe ninja cooler (I believe the ninja mini could fit in most small cases) and run it passively for absolute silence. 2.5" hard drives are ...

Any idea on the pricing? Is it as fluid as a CRT running at 100+ hz?

Re: Any reason to NOT buy a Logitech G15 keyboard?
I have a few reasons: Small keys (I checked it out at Bestbuy and I couldn't believe how small they were! If you have big fingers like I do, stay away) Expensive (A cheap $15 can do the same job although it won't be as pretty.) not really, cheap $15 dont have macro keys, or anti ghosting, or backli...

Re: Don't Use a Cooler Master V10 CPU Cooler on < an Intel Q6600
Couldn't they set it so that the TEC is on regardless of the load? Why not let the cooler be at its full potential 100% of the time. Certainly that would score with the enthusiasts

Re: gpu to run dual 1920x1080 tvs
tbh, I think even a decent onboard GPU can handle that no problem. I had my 780G IGP (I believe it is the equivalent of a 2400XT) connected to both my 1080P TV via HDMI, and 1600x1200 CRT via VGA without any problems. Since he won't game anymore, I don't see why he should get such beefy GPUs!

Re: Problems during Power Up
I had the exact same problem once. It turned out taht the RAM was incompatible with the mobo and it was causing issues.
But as aforementioned, definately try to clear the CMOS and see if it helps.

Never trust Inq.
On a side note, my personal experience with 8/9 series cards has been fantastic. I've owned a 8800GTS 320, a 8800GTS 512, and currently a 9800GX2. I haven't had a single problem with these cards.

Re: Maximum acceptable temps on 8800GTS 512?
This problem only happened in Crysis. I changed the fan settings so that the highest temp is around 75*C, and since then there has been no issues.
I'm actually surprised at this result, as you guys said, 81 shouldnt be too hot for this card
Oh well, lets see how it goes from now on.
