Re: Time for a new cellphone! Need advice.
We don't carry it unfortunately, but I believe it's built about the same and the slide mechanism on the matrix is surprisingly sturdy for what it does. All in all, the matrix isn't a bad phone but it's not a PDA either. The duo may be a decent choice but I can't say for sure as I've never really mes...

Re: Time for a new cellphone! Need advice.
I personally wouldn't go with the propel. Hell, at work I try my hardest not to sell this phone because they almost always come back. The most popular phones for us atm is the LG Vu and the Pantech Matrix, though I doubt either one is quite what you are looking for.Darkstar wrote:What about the Samsung Propel?

Re: Time for a new cellphone! Need advice.
We just got a couple new phones in at work though I don't know too much about either atm. The LG Xenon is a full touchscreen with a kickout keyboard. http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/images/lg/xenon/xenon-4.jpg The Nokia E71x is a 10mm thick phone running Symbian. http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/imag...

Re: Rally Racer
Not hard at all, you just drill them out to remove and buy a pop rivet gun to replace them.
(I've always dremeled or drilled them to remove but that might work too)

Re: Thoughts on Pure Encoding Power
Haven't really messed with it at all but there's a newish linux API that uses nvidia cards to decode video. ffmpeg has also added support. Not sure if you've sworn off linux but if not it may be something to look into.

Easiest way is a dremel. You could probably use nippers but you'd end up with jagged edges.

Still depresses me that there are people out there that actually believe this stuff...also, why is it always Fox News that is sourced in these conspiracy videos? IT MUST BE A CONSPIRACY!Apoptosis wrote:I didn't make that video... lol

Wow. So you really believe the high-speed rail system is a plot by the illuminati to transport everyone to the mass graves in Arizona ala 1938 Nazi Germany? You've made me sad...

Re: Americans told to wear masks as swine flu spreads
I don't get why the whole country is making such a big deal, the swine flu has symptoms that mirror the regular flu and the death rates are actually lower. The suggestion to wear masks when there is an outbreak is the same one they give during the normal flu season, it's only because this has been s...

Googles sketchup application is great for a simple 3D sketch, very easy to use. If you've used CAD software in the past, you may like something a bit more powerful like Blender. Both are free.

1 bottle of scotch + 1 EEE PC + 1 copy of eeebuntu = a hangover and a perfectly configured linux powered netbook.
OK at least one of those 2 things. Probably the former. But really, what have you got to lose? It's not like you can screw anything up so bad a reinstall won't fix.

Ubuntu . Definitely the best one to test the waters with simply for the fact that the community is HUGE. Heck, it's still my daily driver OS even after a few years of linux use. There are a lot of different distros but a lot of them are 'boutique' and cater to one specific type of geek or require a...
