Re: DDR3-1800 and Rampage II Extreme (mix kits?)
Thank you very much for your fast reply. 1) I thought both were 9-9-9-27 are there any other number I should look at to find the good match? 3) Is about to use >1600Mhz memory in all 6 slots. "Per ASUS, Intel XMP and DDR3-1600 or higher speed is supported in one DIMM per channel only." (<-...

DDR3-1800 and Rampage II Extreme (mix kits?)
Hi, some months ago I bought an ASUS Rampage II Extreme. The idea, of course, was to overclock (920@3.92GHz). The fact is, at that time, I considered 3 GB triple channel DDR-14400 (1800Mhz) would do. I bought a kingston kit. Now, due to windows 7, and the need of more RAM for CFD (3GB has proven to ...

Re: Advice on an Apple Purchase
The mini. You can always use a separated display. You will always be able to use the mini as HTPC (by far the best platform: silent, powerful, integrated). I have an old mini which came with a coreduo core, I change it to a T7600, and is still my best htpc in home. I would pick up the mini just for ...

Re: ABS Tigas Super Full Tower Chassis Review
!! Its a LIAN LI PC-77A the only difference is the disk bay system. The whole design is more than 2 years old. Not only isn't cheap, but is a COPY of another product (probably licenced). I bought my lian li for about 240€ an year ago. You can check the pictures in lian-li's site: http://www.lian-li....

I'm relly curious about where GTX 280/285 fits there. You have a couple of tests, It would be great to have some comparision (not only in 3dmark) charts.

Presented LBA BSR (constant reports via webpam) when initializing. 1,3,4 had so much bad sector reports that the controlled retired the disks before 5% of initialization. Now I'm having problems with the seagates. The read speed is correct, but every time I copy a file inside the GPT begin writting ...

Re: Alternatives to 1TB RE2GP of WD (for a 4x1TB RAID 5) [help!]
The WD RE2-GP were broken (3 of 4). So I changed them for 4x Seagate ES.2 (ST3100340NS). If you have a Promise TX4650 remember to: I publish this information for those who had never had a RAID5 configuration. 1. update to the latest BIOS always . 2. use the latest drivers. 3. use webpam to create th...

Re: Lian Li PC-A7010 All Aluminum Full Tower Case
I was between this one and the Lian Li PC-77 ( I finally choose PC-77). It has not the upper "3x120mm FAN ready" panel as this one has (optional for 2 or 3 fans). The 7010 does. But the room inside has more possibilities and space for watercooling. It has not the HDD connectors as the 7010 ...

New stuff, new speed :)
:D Some weeks ago I had the opportunity to change my case radiator and waterblock. I hope my new LianLi PC-77 will last as long as my old PC-70 (which will be the new chassis for my server). - The CPU waterblock is a DangerDen TDX for a 939 socket (the price was about 30% of the AM2 version: It only...

Alternatives to 1TB RE2GP of WD (for a 4x1TB RAID 5) [help!]
Hi, I was going to set up a RAID5 4x1TB on a TX4650 promise raid controller. But it looks like those drives are MIA (as my first option 4x750GB WD7500FYPS) in Spain and will not be "available" again in about 4-5 weeks. I'm looking for some help about: 1. Do you know any european shop (seri...

Re: WHY! does *ANYONE* use Norton ANYthing?!?!?!?
I had internet security protection 2007 bla bla bla symantec. I cant recall the name. It had about 4 services in windows only for updates, the new updater didn't disable the older one. 4 exes running for antivirus, open a zip or a rar was a torture. Also why the antivirus needs 3 or 4 icons in the t...

They create master pieces, second and third parts, but master pieces after all.
I wonder when they have the nuts to start a new saga, again. Risk a little.

Re: 8600GT(S) or Radeon 1950PRO or...?
Also take into account which of one has a lower power consumption. Try to look for prices/cards in alternate.net for poland (If shops cannot be recommended please edit my post). 1750PLN are about 500 euros. Is a cheap computer indeed for a 8800GTS. I see you're looking between 8800GS and 9600GT, hav...

Re: 8600GT(S) or Radeon 1950PRO or...?
I still thing that a 8600GT is not a good choice. You can buy a 8800GTS for about 200€ which is a 1/3 of a ~600€ computer. If 200€ is too much between that and 100€ 8600GT you can always buy a 150€ 9600GT... If, as you said, the first component you're interested (you'll build the computer around it)...

None of them. Too old. Save a little more money and go for at least a 8800GTS. Also forget about DDR2. I've got 2 8600GT, thats why I tell you this.

Re: My first OC, x2 5600+, need help with some questions.
Do those 'ducts' actually work? Dan hmm what do you mean? The silicone tubes or the paper boxes? I've always used silicone tubes because of its durability and because its almost imposible to loose coolant. And is very easy to clean: just stretch the tube. This also works with bubbles when you set u...
