Re: As Yet to be Named Build..........
It has been sitting idle due to life getting in the way and trying to get up to speed with DreamCatcher AM3. Still working on a color for the interior, and just how far down I want to break down the case for painting and just how much "cutting" I want to do as I'm time limited. BTW as DC A...

Re: Did It Again... Now DreamCatcher v4.0
Might have something like that floating around somewhere!!! Thanks for the suggestion, as I might try to get it together tonight to try and at least have that part out of the way when I get home from work tomorrow night. All other happenings will be posted over here so look forward to more of ...

Re: Did It Again... Now DreamCatcher v4.0
Now that sucks. You said you leak tested for a couple hours, how long did you watch it after you put heat in the mix? I normally leak test loops 24 hours, then baby sit the loop for a hour or so with the system on and running 100% load. Did you ever figure out what caused the leak or the cracks in ...

DreamCatcher AM3 - THE LAST VERSION!
Now that more than just the CPU is AM3 (also now a 955BE instead of the 945) in DreamCatcher decided to change the title again. In addition my "bling" tastes have dramatically changed. I've migrated away for lots of copper to nickle. So to start here be the specs........ M...

Re: Did It Again... Now DreamCatcher v4.0
That was over a month ago.......the mobo was indeed DOA and BFG sat in the RMA'ed 280 "waiting for parts". To try and get things moving again I asked if BFG could give me something else, so I ended up with what seems to be an factory oc'ed version of a GTC 285 on air......BFGRGTX2851024OCB...

Did It Again... Now DreamCatcher v4.0
A while back I decided to really test domestic tranquility by taking the Kermit build into the realm of AM3. In other words managed to get bitten by eBay again, but that is another story. So I decided to bring the 790GXE / 945 assembly over to DreamCatcher. Also decided this would be a good time for...

Re: Trade WC Blk or GPU..........
Yep so the EK should fit!! Also there is a back view floating around that make for an initial easy quess as the two mounting screws at the power connector end are arranged differently. If the "bottom" mounting screw is very close to the bottom edge it more than likely is rev1. So it looks ...

PII X6 1055t Memory Question........
Wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes..... Have only been playing with "dedicated" AM3 systems for a limited time and up until the X6s I know AMD cpus are limited on the memory with all the "good stuff" working with the i5/i7 cpus. Has this changed with the X6 processors?...

I had gone looking for that comparison and for whatever reason couldn't find it!! However I haven't removed the cooler on the BFG but did on my XFX for fitting the Zalman VF3000N and this is what it looks like...... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d140/jedihobbit/Zalman/VF3000N%20Review/285Bare.jp...

Re: Trade WC Blk or GPU..........
It isn't the mounting holes.......and something one needs to watch for regardless of who makes the water block. This applies to all the GTX series GPUs, the difference is the location of some components. That being a nvidia "reference" card vs fabricator's layout. In this case with the GTX...

Re: Trade WC Blk or GPU..........
1. Have a BFG GTX 285 GPU Rev2
2. Have an EK water block for a GTX 285 Rev1
3. Has anyone worked with either to know if I can make them work together with some effort or if not
4. Guess I need to figure out which one to "trade" to find matching parts.

Re: Zalman VF3000N Cooler for GTX260 - 285 a User's Review
The wiring looks like that because of messing around with the GPUs and adding a couple oif 120s "freestanding" in the bottom with the side off to cool the 2 x 250GTSs. Even with that the cpu does okay but really haven't pushed it that much as GPU cooling is the primary thing right now........

Trade WC Blk or GPU..........
Well it looks like I've been bit by the Rev1 vs Rev2 part of getting a water block for my GPU....... Have a BFGRGTX2851024OCBE that came as a replacement for an RMA'ed watercooled 280 (was tired of waiting for "replacement" parts). Then on the fly and a whim "won" an EK-FC285 GTX...

Haven't been around here enough to learn who is whom but it seems the typical is they hang around for the contest only and sometimes forget where they've entered.......pwcmed wrote:I really don't know why it's so hard to give things away.
