Re: SATA II vs SATA III cables?
It was the drive. I must have just been unlucky and got a defective one. Swapped for new at Micro Center today and everythings running great. I went ahead and sprang for the $20 warrenty just in case though. I don't want to get 45 days down the road and not be able to replace it if I have a problem...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
IT LIVES!!!! I ran to Micro Center today and exchanged the SSD for a new one. The guy at the counter offered me a 2 year replacement plan for $20. Normally I don't buy things like that but given how touchey these things seem to be it seems a wise investment. Windows is now installed without BSOD's....

Re: SATA II vs SATA III cables?
Don't tell me that. Santa has that exact drive in his workshop waiting for me come the 25th. I can't say this is indicitive of all the OCZ Agility III drives, and it may just be some wierd issue between it and the Z68 platform. The boys here at LR didn't seem to have these issues with the one they ...

Re: SATA II vs SATA III cables?
The drive is running 2.15 which is the latest firmware from OCZ. I'm now typing this from Warmachine 3.0 using my twin WD Black drives in RAID0 without the SSD connected any everythings working excellently. It's obvious the SSD is the cause of the trouble.

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Well, I'm posting this from Warmachine 3.0 with a fresh Windows 7 install on my twin WD Black drives. I think it's safe to say the OCZ SSD is the cause of the problem. I've installed all my drivers with no problems at all, even using the RAID0 array. I'll be taking the SSD back to Micro Center tomor...

Re: Squatters invade Texas homes worth millions
I like the part at the end about Ann Curry following the law and getting boofed by squaters on her "vacant home".
This is rediculious.

Re: SATA II vs SATA III cables?
Yeah. I've been fighting with my new rig for a while now. At first I thought it was a memory issue but now it's looking more and more like an issue with the SSD as the RAM passed 10 passes of Memtest86. I can't think of anything else in the machine that would cause BSOD's like I'm getting. When I'd ...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Check to see if your SSD and your other hard drives are getting enough power. I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that. Would I need a PSU tester? I have the two HDD's and the SSD coming off the same cable to the PSU, a three port SATA power connector. Do I maybe need to move the SSD to it's own &q...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
My X-Fi didn't even show up in Vista until AFTER I installed the driers which was REALLY REALLY weird to me. What's your soundcard doing, or not doing I should say?

Re: SATA II vs SATA III cables?
I've been using what I assumed where the SATA III cables from my eVGA motherboard to try and get my OCZ Agility III SSD to work. These cables are round, as opposed to the traditional flat SATA cables. They manual does not label them, nor are they labeled themselves. My SSD did not include any cables...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Well, I ran Memtest86 last night for 10 passes. I had no idea it'd take that long to test 16gb of RAM. I didn't have a single failure so I think I can rule out the memory as the cause of the problem. That leaves the SATA cable and the SSD as possible causes of trouble. I'm going to try replacing the...

SATA II vs SATA III cables?
I'm still trying to get my machine up and running. After running memtest86 for 10 hours last night I think I can rule out my memory. Someone suggested the problem might be my SATA cable. I've never had a SATA cable fail on me so I'm not sure if it would cause a BSOD like I'm getting. Is this possibl...

Re: Street Racing: C5 versus C6 Corvette w/ Both Ending Up W
None of the Corvette owners I've ever met are what I'd consider enthusaists. It seems to be more of a mid-life crisis mobile. I'm not suprised these jokers wrecked them.

Re: Banned from Origin forums, Lose Games
Well, this is distrubing. I was opposed to Origin for a variety of reasons, mostly because I don't see the need for ANOTHER digital distrobution system (Turbine, Steam, now Origin too?). But if what you've posted is true, I really need to sit down and read the "Terms of Service" and the &q...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
So I played around with it a bit more last night. I made sure to check the firmware of the OCZ drive and it comes back as ver 2.15. So I think the firmware for the SSD is up to date. Thinking it might be an undervoltage issue with the RAM I tried upping the RAM voltage aboue 20mV. This seemed to sta...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Well, I unraided my HDD's and that seemed to get Windows to install. I re-enabled the RAID and it will boot to Windows but man I'm getting a ton of BSOD's. The chips running at 32deg so I know it's not overheating. I'm suspecting it's a RAM issue. I've heard that eVGA's don't like to be controlled b...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Now I've hit a new brick wall. The machine posts, boots, and takes me into the Windows 7 installation. It tells me it's formatted my SSD and that it's copied over all the files. But when it goes to expand them it sits at zero until eventually it gives a read error. Once that's done the SSD does not ...

Re: Warmachine 3.0 Build
Well, I spent the morning mounting the motherboard, wiring up the drives and the power, and running the cooling loop. Here's a pic of testing the fan controller. I wanted to get an idea of how much light those LED's would output. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7020/6454268369_313b460821_z.jpg I also ...
