I would do that if I don't have to spend any money and know how to take off the CPU and put it back on. My dad probably won't let me spend that kind of money. To him, as long as it's not overheating, it's fine. How can I tell if my heatsink is making contact with the CPU correctly? As I said...

I am using stock thermal grease and the stock heatsink. I do not know if the heat sink is making good connection or not since it was not me that put this computer together. I tried moving the heatsink the other day, and it didn't move one bit. My room is about 22C. The computer is placed right on to...

AMD X-2 3800+ temps
So my CPU idles at 40C according to Core Temp. Is this fine or is there something wrong with it. The room temp is 22C. My computer is placed directly on top of the vent so I know there will be some impact on the cooling. I have one exhaust fan. The high temps are the reason why I'm trying to undervo...

I just set the CPU voltage back to auto. Under Orthos load I get 1.33v. I still get the vdroop under load. When the CPU was idle, I was getting 1.38v. These readings were from Asus AI Booster. In the BIOS, the hardware monitor says 1.36v. If Asus says my CPU voltage is around 1.28v even though I set...

CPU voltage
Not sure where this goes, but here is my problem. I'm undervolting my chip right now. In the BIOS I have it set to 1.2625v. In the BIOS hardware monitor it says 1.36v. CPU-Z states 1.3v and PC Probe states 1.33v and 1.28v under Orthos load. Core Temp states 1.3v as well. Are there any programs out t...

I have three more questions. One is whether if I can change how much CPU usage F@H uses. The other is if there is anything to delete after a WU is completed. The final question is that the time and date in the F@H log is incorrect. Is there any way to fix this? Currently, the log says it is March 22...

F@H question (SMP and Fahmon)
So I set up F@H today. I found out that on the two Folding services that I'm currently running, I'm working on the same WU. Is this normal or is there something wrong.
Edited: Please see latest post for the SMP and Fahmon question. Sorry for the thread revival.
