Re: ASUS ROG MARS 2 3GB Video Card Review w/ NVIDIA Surround

Gulps down 800W of power, my god...
Was expecting the MARS 2 to trample the Radeon HD 6990 over and over again, but they both traded blows; quite interesting.
For $1,500....costs just a bit more than my whole system...I'll pass.

Re: Need Recommendations: Cheap PSU

There's quite a bit of power supplies on NewEgg that's under $30 with a PCI-E 6-pin...and all of them aren't quality. I usually won't even go 2 miles close to these poor quality units, so I might not help a whole lot, but I'll try. Cooler Master 460W? $20 After rebate. The lower end PSU's from Coole...

Re: I think I got a ticket from a camera at a intersection

If you were past the crosswalk and in the intersection, you should be able to just move on along. You are in at the...here in Canada we call it "the point of no return."
Also, if you really did get a ticket, they should mail it to you along with a picture of your car.

Re: 2 Builds Pick One

Have read some reviews on NewEgg about the CX430 failing couple hours/days in or DOA, but wow...seems to be a really common issue for the CX430. Wasn't expecting Corsair products to be like this...
Let's just hope only the PSU is down & not any other components. :(

Re: 2 Builds Pick One

Looking at BestBuy Canada, there isn't a lot that they sell for HSF & case fans; just a small handful. When I look on BestBuy USA, WOW! They have everything; Cooler Master R4 case fans, HSF like the Cooler Msster V8, TX3, H60, H70, H80, H100.... A decent cooler for that system shouldn't ...

Re: Scratch Build: The Ultimate Computer Desk (56k Warning!!

Some awesome server systems, handy socket 775 boards + Core2Duo's..my god..you've struck gold! Will you considering selling a/some 775 boards + CPUs? what kind of DDR RAM are those? :) :) For the server, you could mount the drives in the open area behind the top intake fans, in fron of the PSU. Seem...

Re: 2 Builds Pick One

In my opinion, since you have plenty of RAM, might as well dedicate 512MB to the GPU side of the AGPU. Better to have some left over then not enough. It's not like it is a lot...like 2GB. Btw, I love how you stuffed all the cables into that drive bay :supz: . Pretty much what I figured, the more th...

Re: CPU Temp ???

No real clue, just goes out after about 10min, whether its under load or idling. The CPU temp software says the CPU starts about 17c but it goes as high as 27c, +10c ? I noticed the case had no fan  I just put a new fan in the case, so I'll watch the temp now. Thanks again 17*C from cold sta...

Re: CPU Temp ???

Hmm...good point stating that. It could also be that the temperature sensor on the motherboard or processor? is defective. I don't exactly remember if the sensor is on the CPU or not for AM2/AM2+... Did you remove all the thermal paste on the heatsink & CPU and re-applied new material, or did yo...

Re: CPU Temp ???

Your problem could be caused by the new processor that you installed; your motherboard might not have fully compatibility/support for it. In another of your posts, you said you have a ACER RS740DVF motherboard and a AM2 single-core processor. Then you replaced it with a AM2+ Athlon Dual-core 'Black ...

Re: 2 Builds Pick One

Quick onboard video performance question. What amount of RAM should I dedicate to the onboard GPU? Right now I have it at 512MB. The options are... 64MB 128MB 256MB 384MB 512MB I'm asking if while doing your reviews if you played with this and found a "sweet spot". I'm not worried about l...

Re: AMD A6-3650 2.6GHz Llano APU Review

These APUs seems to be really good for their cost ; good thing I was "too busy" to build a new HTPC  . The Gigabyte board acting weird...might want to get a replacement or a different one for future reviews. I'm pretty sure the overclocks/performance can probably go a bit further. By ...

Re: MB CPU recommendations

Hmmmmm....That kinda sucks. I'm curious, what socket is standard for Intel? I have a great LGA1366 HSF. If I can save on the fan, I'd probably be able to go to $400-450. Does my options improve there? I'm also missing the link on Newegg for the MB/CPU combos, or don't they do that anymore? Are you ...
