Re: Gigabyte Brix Pro Review – GB-BXi7-4770R

Sounds like you are enjoying the Brix! how much was the total build cost? The 2x USB 3.0 ports would be a PITA, but there is where this comes in - http://www.legitreviews.com/satechi-10-port-usb-3-0-hub-uh3-10p-review_2163 All in; about €350 or so for the Brix, ram, SSD & wireless keyboard and ...

Re: SteelSeries Rival Gaming Mouse Review

Windows 7 because I began to sense a pattern. It looks like Corsair, SteelSeries and many of the peripheral companies aren't fully Windows 8.1 compliant. Sounds like we need to get a system with Windows 8.1 to test these out on! Why not add Linux since steam is making inroads there too? A basic Ubu...

Re: Gigabyte Brix Pro Review – GB-BXi7-4770R

Now I'm glad I didn't go with a higher end model. I got the Birx "GB-XM12-3227" which runs on a 3rd gen Intel i3-3227U @ 1.9GHz and use it mostly for a HTPC I paired it with an intel 530 120gb msata drive and 8GB of RAM (I like to use vmware) The system is connected to my 32" plasma i...

Re: Setting up a home network *Error code 0x80070035 SOLVED*

I worked for years in tech support for an isp, you'd be amazed how many times it comes up. Eventually you get tired of it and ask all the customers just to reset the router.

Re: Setting up a home network

Thanks for the heads up on that "WLAN partition" thing, that was most likely it. No problem - I'm certain it's what was causing it It's usually not enabled and only done by default on routers for the 2nd/3rd SSID (as users normally setup additional networks to run as hotspots) It sounds l...

Re: Setting up a home network

Check if you have access by testing connectivity to the required ports. In command prompt type the following commands 'telnet x.x.x.x 137', ' telnet x.x.x.x 139' & telnet x.x.x.x 445' - you should get a prompt but not able to type anything & will have to force close the command prompt. If yo...

3x3 in theory increases both range & bandwidth by 30% over 2x2 - depending on the chip set (Intel are best for consumer parts)

Re: Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK Review

Can't I just install all drivers afterwards? You can if it boots, but your registry will be all messed up and your boot times will probably be slow. You can try it and see but as said already, it's not recommended. Generally you should reinstall windows every year to 18mths, use this as your opport...

Re: Kingo - Automated Android Root Software

I miss Lucky Patcher, and not for what you think. It has a built in adblocking system that modifies the Host file like you do with Windows or OS X. Tethering would be nice but I am not giving Sprint any more money since my phone is worthless at home. I use Adfree for that http://adfree.bigtincan.co...

It sounds like the d-link router is the problem, since everything is OK when you connect directly into the modem.

Re: Intel dp45sg memory problem?

Have you tried a different stick of RAM in that slot?
Is there an updated bios for your board?
Try manually setting the memory timings in the bios & add 0.1v as well

Remove the old router

It should be:
Cable modem --> Switch --> Network
