Re: FYI: Windows updates and Adobe flash player
Just ran cc cleaner here and had quite a few Silverlight entries to delete as well.

Re: D975XBX2 and CORE 2 QUAD Q9400 compatibility
I don't think it will run on the XBX2 because the board is designed for 1066 mhz FSB and the Q9400 is for a 1333 mhz FSB. I still have this board in my back up rig, best bet may be to get a Q6700.
Re: HELP!
Thanks, hope I never need it but it's good to read about a program that works before you need it.
Re: HELP!
So which program did you end up using?

Re: I think I got a ticket from a camera at a intersection
Short of going to the courthouse window to see if you have a ticket to pay, there may not be much to do but wait.
On the bright side, perhaps your city is one of those reviewing the camera's legality and effectiveness and putting the tickets on hold
or canceling them.

Fight it. I think up Los Angeles they just removed all red light cameras....might want to research that angle and see what you can come up with.

Re: Laptop Power
Add up the sum of each one and you'll have the answer. Or if you only plan to run one at a time, pick the highest wattage and again, allow a little head room. I think my Dell laptop pulls around 100w @ 120v

Re: Laptop Power
Sounds like what you propose will work, just be sure the adapter you choose supports the highest wattage of your devices plus a little head room just in case.

Re: Laptop Power
Is the cord you use now two prong or three? If it's two prong, don't sweat it. To clarify, your nameplate on your laptop only says 120v? If that's the case then you will require a power adapter as well as a plug adapter. I don't know anything about the quality of these but they were the first few I ...

Re: Laptop Power
Have you checked the input voltage requirements on the laptop? Should be a tag on the bottom somewhere. If it accepts 120/240 all you may need is an adapter for the plug itself. Looks like Chile uses type C & L plugs. Try Newegg or Amazon http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE...

Re: Looking For Someone To Adopt A Kitten
Wish I could help but I'm too far away....we've got two from the local shelter now that were abandoned in a dog carrier years ago. Shelter pets seem to make the best, loving pets. Good karma is sure to come your way for this one.

Re: Windows 8 Video and a Rant
Not impressed, looks like an i-phone or table OS to me. I don't really want a touch screen for my home PC...smudgy fingerprints on the screen?? Besides, my monitor sits on the back of my desk and the older I get the further I have to sit from it to see it! So it would be tough to reach to interact w...

Re: PCMark 7 Scores
Yes, latest drivers..just installed them yesterday....I too was a bit disappointed in the scores. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with having speed step enabled? EDIT: Just ran it again and got a 4196 with slight OC on video card....still not what I would expect. 2nd Edit: No difference with ...

Re: Mike Rowe's Senate Terstimony
Mike Rowe has hit the nail on the head...today's kids entering the job market don't want to do this kind of stuff. It's too bad, our country needs people like that to keep us growing instead of sitting around and waiting for somebody to off you a CEO or CFO position...it ain't gonna happen!

Asus X58 Sabertooth BIOS Update
New BIOS v0902 "Improve USB Compatibility". Flashed mine, no issues. Funny thing, upon rebooting in to Widows saw updates for drivers for my SATA & IDE connections. My XMP ram profiles seems to be working fine. When I had v0602 it wouldn't take the XMP settings with my memory. http://s...
