Is a creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 sound card better than the onboard sound of an MSI k7n2 Delta-L ( Nvidia AC97 I think)?

Hey guys, Maybe I should just address Biohazard and Infinitevalence since they are the only ones interested in this discussion. Ok guys I know that the more money I spend the better the memory I'll get but what I don't understand is that Apotinosis told me that PC2100 running in dual channel is actu...

General memory questions
Hey everyone, I am sure some of you are thinking I am dense because I keep asking memory questions but I seem to be getting different answers fron different people. I hope someone can help me sort out what I grasp so far and clarify where I got it wrong. From what I understand it is a very good idea...

Underclocking
I was wondering if a set of XMS 3700 could be slowed down to 400 Mhz and tighten the latency timings to sync with an Atnelon XP2800+ overclocked to 400 Mhz FSB. If so what timings could I resonably expect and what voltage should I use?

MSI K7N2 Delta-L .I know it will take DDR400 and it supports dual channel. MSI recommends Kingston, but you guys proved that Corsair sets the standard in quality and performance, and a friend of mine who is a system admin. for a company also says that Corsair is the best. I really would prefer corsa...

XMS price
With the release of their XL series, do you guys expect to see a price drop in the regular XMS series ,(twinx1024-3200c2pt) if so how quickly do you THINK it might go down and by how much. I realize you have no crystal ball but your alot closer to the industry than me and have seen trends in the pas...

Hey guys I goofed. I thought that DDR meant 128bit memory because I have a mainboard with dual channel DDR and I forgot that single channel ddr is 64bits and dual is 128. So in a manner of speaking it could be said that the memory on the 9600SE is single channel and the others are dual or at least t...

AGP clock speed
You guys are really giving me an education on the basics of PCs. Thanks. I was wondering how the AGP clock speed as it appears in BIOS calculates in with the AGP multiplier( 4x or 8x) and the Vid card's clock rate and mem speed to arrive at overall Vid card performance. It would seem to me that you ...

chip set vid card combo
Thanks, I figured this would be the case but wasn't sure. It makes perfect sense and now I have to yell at a friend of mine who told me not to buy Nvidia FX series vid cards. He claims their no good or at least not as good as radeon or their TI series. I recently bought a radeon 9600SE based on his ...

I know Radeons work fine on Nvidia chipset boards, I have one. I was just wondering if Nvidia's might have some advantage like maybe you can overclock better or something. Same question would apply to the new MSI boards with a radeon chipset, or maybe its not a radeon chipset but rather radeon on bo...

DVD-R vs. DVD + R
I appreciate all your help guys but so far no one has answered my question. I know MOST new DVD players will play both and I know they are different techs. What I don't know is IF a DVD player won't play both, which of the two is that player more likely to play +/- . I want to burn a few DVD's for f...
