Re: AMD Releases Catalyst 12.1 Preview video card drivers

Has to be the best driver to date since the 6950 was installed. Have been revisiting STALKER: SOC and even that looks and plays better; in love with METRO 2033's graphics though.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Performance After The DX11 Patch

Think the whole development model is off. Games, as had been said many times before, are developed for console and then ported to PC. The best of both worlds would have the process reversed. But bottom line stragey wins out. More money to be made from console sales. Consumerism & Capitalism at i...

Re: Batman: Arkham City Performance After The DX11 Patch

Didn't it seem weird that all the cards improved the same general amount, 9 fps, for 1920x1080? Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't that suggest that the game is more cpu bound than gpu?

AnyDVD by Slysoft will allow you to rip the dvd using Nero or any other burning software. If you are meaning DVD audio, here is a good acrticle and great software for the job: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/conte ... HDAD-Discs

Re: MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III 1G/OC Radeon HD 6950 Video Card

Just wanted to add, that for my card, the only way to get the voltage increase to stick was to set the gpu to an 1150mv type on the general settings tab. Two questions, firstly: Is the fan switch really a fan switch or is it a bios switch? Secondly, Was the card able to be unlocked to have the full ...

Re: OCZ Solid State Drives On Sale At Newegg

I am on their e-mail list. :( Googling the code sent me over to a site called fat wallet. Code did not work with their instructions either. You must be on a different level with Newegg's email offers. Seem's like tiers based on how much is purchased through them. Vertex 3 is $189 for me as well.

So what exactly is the usage criteria?

Although you've entered a valid promo code BLKNOVSSD, your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria.

Re: Disappearing drives

You probalbly have already thought of this: Srcap the whole installation and wipe the entire os drive. WD has a decent dos based utility that I use. Then only install the os with as close to its minimum ram requirements as possible, plus only one opticle drive and the one hdd for the os. It is a pai...

Re: Netgear N600 DGDN3700 Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router Rev

One question: How were you able to get a 5GHz signal from the D-Link DIR655 in the review? It is only fitted with a 2.4GHz radio. Even the D-Link website only lists it as a 2.4GHz radio.

Guess we can say goodbye to free Skype to Skype calling. Microsoft will find a way to bloatware this as well.

Re: Intel 6 Series Chipset Recall From a Fanboi Point of Vie

It is just another piece of yellow journalism. Of course they are still shipping defective chips, one of the articles posted on this site stated they were going to continue selling the chips in systems that are not impacted by the flaw. If you ask me, the piece hurts the author where it counts: Inte...

Re: Genaudio Astoundsound Audio Expander 3.0 Review

As far as sound goes, I have found no better site than this one: http://www.computeraudiophile.com . Not everyone has the budget to invest funds on the recomended componets, but the priciples and the recomended software to setup a music liberary on a music server are among the best. Was not too fond...

Re: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula 890FX Chipset Motherboard Revi

Cannot say if the issue was even addressed by ASUS' quality control department. The solution was either rma'ing the board or voiding the warranty by removing the heatsink and reseating it so that propper contact was made. I have to say that I have run into this issue on more than one occasion puttin...

Re: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula 890FX Chipset Motherboard Revi

Think it should be noted that one of the most common complaints on the ASUS forum page for the board was a lack of contact between the heatsink and the 890FX northbridge chip causing high NB temperatures.

Haven't ordered from them before. Thanks for the new site (to me). I also agree that the intelectual prope...

What Happened to PC Power & Cooling?

Can not find a single etailer that has any model available. Has OCZ dismantled them and just not announced it yet? I have sent five separate inquiries to their sales support and not one single reply yet.

It was not my intent to question the integrity of the post. Consider me a noob as far as yellow journalistic forum sites are concerned. I know now to file that site in the same catagory as the National Enquirer.

Re: Computer Will Not Fully Shutdown

The clicks you hear, in my experience, relate to the HDD driver. The only aspect being changed would be the raid driver version; one would just produce a single click and then power off, the newer version would produce two clicks and then off. Never happened with XP only VISTA 64-bit.
