It's not a matter of price as I have 0 money. Its just a trade. I can either keep my 7900GTO or trade for the ATI card and $35-40. I pretty much have just decided to stay with my NV card as it has never given me a problem, clocks great and $35 isn't enough to warrant a change even though right now a...

7900GTO or X1950XT

If you had a choice between these two cards which one would you choose? I know this is the Nv section so it may be biased. Whichever one you do chose, what do you think the monetary difference is between them. Such as - you would take the 7900GTO, but the X1950XT+$40. Reason is I have an offer on th...

I have actually been using it myself lately and I can say it really isn't much different than winrar. The interface is a little more generic, but speed and functionality wise its right on par with it. For free it's a no brainer. I may even switch fully to it as it is a bit leaner and even though sys...

Good deal, I'm crankin em' out as I type. May not be the fastest machines in the world, but I'll try to do my part. Wish I could trade my 7900GTO for an ATI card and use that as well, but what can you do.

Also, is it normal for it to not get workunits right away? I tried using explorer settings and not, and it keeps retrying. I have yet to get a workunit.

---- Sorry, just went back to try and figure it out and it says F@H is performing system maintinance, so I guess thats the issue.

Just joined!

I just started folding again after a long absence. I was wondering if its possible to fold for 2 different teams? If so do I need 2 different names? I was just wondering as I was originally on OC Forums. If not will it yank all my points and put them here?

Wow that is nice and neat inside! Mine looks like a small bomb went off inside it. I myself keep all my system a swap on raid 0 raptors, but I have noticed the larger drives even at 7,200 have equal or better seek times, and almost equivalent burst speed. Maybe due to the cache or possibly the platt...

Not really. Nv will cut prices on the 88XX cards which the R600 was to compete with and just roll out the 89XX cards to keep their higher end prices up. The R650 is a ways off, and NV is a full move ahead at this time.

I think it has to do with the fact that they are competing with a product that already has 6 months worth of market penetration not to mention NV will be ready to release a refresh and drop the prices on the 88XX series as the 89XX are released to rain all over AMD's parade. I really hope AMD can ge...

I would look for a good NV MB like the 680i or the 680LT since the udget is high. Hey a 8800GTX is great. I know the Ultra will be out, but something else will always be out so if you want one now go for it. Get a decent sound card like the X-Fi or possibly an M-Audio ( http://www.m-audio.com/index....

Thats your cpu cooler. I use the same voltage and my Idle is 39 and load is up to 55C depending on room temp. You really need a better cooler to get the best out of that cpu. 80C that cpu is probably throttling unless you have it turned off. I edited it to post this link. This new cpu cooler looks s...

The ram you mentioned earlier will be good because when clocking up the FSB, you should be able to keep the 1:1 divider allot easier than on regular DDR2 800 because the ram has more natural headroom. That CPU cooling is going to have to go. It will be average, but if your getting top end ram and a ...

Not sure as I haven't had that MB. You may want to ask in a MB part of the forum. I would take the faster speed and looser timings any day.

Maybe the extra cache helps superPi. At 3.4ghz on my E6600 I get 14.065 I can't get mine stable on air to run at 3.6 although I would love to break the 13 sec barrier.

Being as these are audiophile cans and being an audiophile myself these cans really can't be compared to ones normally used for gaming. They are meant for proper music reproduction and as such are not great for gaming situations. Their cometition would be Shure E2C or E3C's and SuperFi 5's (which I ...

Thats rough investing any kind of real money in a PCI card. I believe you would be better off using it as a net/web machine and building a different gaming rig. You could get used parts really cheap and even an older setup like a older AMD mobile rig on an N7-S MB would do wonder in comparison. Also...

I agree with dicecca112, AntiVir is nice, pretty lean and updated daily. I keep it at max heuristic's and it pretty much catches everything.
