Re: New system, need help to max value
Some thing outa left field here, Spring for 2 sata 320 and mount a raid 0 array (or 2 160 sata) that raid array helps with the hard drive speed bottleneck tremendously (as long as you keep it defragged) And for the nay sayers, if ya want a monster system you might go over to TOMS hardware site and s...

Re: Changing System Graphics and Info
Thanks Dude
Designed and implemented a logo for my rig, and for my sellers, stuck it on a cdr jotted in a batch file to copy it to system32 from autorun.
It'll be a nice personalized touch, and now the customers have my contact info branded on lol, provided they don't crash it.

Re: Asus M2N-E
Whatever new RAM you get, make sure that the RAM can operate at 1.95V or under since that's the highest vdimm the BIOS allows. As for overclocking, it's stuff like lower RAM multiplier/divider, slowly raise HT bus, then when it's unstable increase the vcore little by little. Be sure to lock the PCI...

Re: Vista Ultimate 32-bit or stay with XP Pro SP2??
XP Pro VS Vista I am fortunate enough to have two identical machines, one with Vista home premium, one with xp pro. As far as performance goes Vista uses more resources, a few more driver headaches, and people aren't used to it. Speeds are about the same unless you go to Quad Core. A lot of people h...

Re: AMD Phenom Processor Logos Appear
Great name for a new processor!
Is it just me or is it kinda suspicious that when intel came out with Quad core they put it on LGA 775 socket? Seems like the smaller socket would impair the performance.

LoL  I love your Intro, especially the part about Sandy and Mandy. Just how old is dirt? :-k Welcome to the forums! Dirt is old enough that that most girls won't give you a second look, and women can't look enough. Suffice it to say that when the first commercial desktop hit the market for hom...

Asus M2N-E
Hey I just got A: Asus M2N-E with an AMD 4200 X2 I'm looking for an OC from 2.2 to about 2.6 I'm not really interested in stretching the envelope, just a decent stable overclock in the 2.5 to 2.6 range. For cooling I have a Media PC Ice Tank backed by a 120 mm thermaltake exhaust fan. At 2.2 under l...

Hey fellow Geeks (Not a bad thing "The GEEKS will inherit the Earth, Gates already has a big chunk) I'm older than the hills, but younger than dirt (though the resemblance merits scrutiny). I graduated college as a Computer Programmer Systems Analyst about the time dinosaurs went extinct. My gr...
