I also think that NVSilencer is best for your card.I know that it's available for the 7600GT PCIE but donno if there's a NVSilencer cooler for your AGP too.

An 8x graphics card will also work with a 2x slot.The performance will be a hell lot slower though.

Only graphics card alone can't boost ur games.You must have other devices equivalent to your graphics card so that no bottleneck occurs when u r playing games.Let us know the full configuration of your PC.
