Re: Funny Product Reviews

Heh, that reminds me of when I was looking to buy a new cooler for my GPU and there was one review complaining about shorting and ruining his entire computer. I hadn't changed a GPU cooler before that point so I was worried. I went ahead and ordered the cooler anyway. When putting it together, it se...

Re: Interesting Thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street protester

Do you know why there is a drive to get a degree in the first place? Jobs in the trades were running thin and demand was reducing. So if we follow your advice and everyone rushes to get enter a skilled trade, then the demand dries up again. If the trades were so lucrative, stable, and offered a dec...

Re: Interesting Thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street protester

That's the problem with your thinking, they're not taking YOUR money. If you enjoy busting your ass to barely make a living while millionaires and billionaires make more millions and billions off of you, then that's your prerogative. However, others imagine a world where everyone can make a decent ...

Re: AMD has released AMD Catalyst 11.11a video card drivers

Heh, just when I thought that the 11.11 drivers would be the only drivers this month, the 11.11a drivers spring up. Thank you very much for the heads up. I'll make sure to upgrade once I get back from school. Skyrim is running really well after I toned down shadows to medium with little visual impac...

Re: Interesting Thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street protester

I understand where you're coming from, Skippman, but resentment is a dangerous thing. Those asking for forgiveness of student debt have been trapped into taking out loans that they cannot repay, especially since they are unable to get a job in the increasingly demanding and competitive job market. P...

I'm hoping this provides me with any sort of enhancement for Skyrim. Since this is the driver release of the month and next month is a while off, I'll update now.

Re: Firefox 8.0 Final Released!

I updated yesterday and haven't noticed any differences, but the list of changes look good. I notice increasing promotion and adopting of HTML5 (especially) and WebGL. With graduation coming closer and needing to find a job, I think I'll get a head-start and learn HTML5. Browsers, Windows 8, and the...

Re: Something I seen on Facebook this morning.

Wow. I don't know how it's like in other areas, but in Canada, sweepstakes are required to have an element of "skill" otherwise the prize gets taxed. So they typically ask a question like this simple math problem. I didn't think people could get such questions wrong (unless they weren't pr...

Re: EA Recommended Battlefield 3 PC System Specs

Wonder how bad it would look on the 8800GT in this q6700 system lol Heck even the GTX260 in the i7-920 is so outdated :( I hate to admit how much I have swayed towards console gaming just due to the cost of keeping the video card updated in a computer. You can buy a PS3 (best console :p) and the ga...

Re: AMD Catalyst GPU Driver For Rage Now Available

It's about time the GPU companies buffed up their OpenGL support. I'm surprised that the group behind OpenGL didn't capitalize on the debacle over DirectX 10. They could offer DirectX 10/11 features under Windows XP, but for some reason they do not (not that I know of, anyway).

Heh, well those lamps are just for demonstration purposes. Advances in solar technology are exciting. I remember reading a while back of more efficient solar panels, so hopefully that comes through. However, if solar power gets big enough, I'm sure the corporations will try to find a way to charge f...

That makes me think of the corporate bull**** of putting on a smile and serving customers like a robot. All the big places like walmart and mcdonalds do that. It's fake and dehumanizing. Speaking of robots, I'm sure they'll love to replace all their employees with robots the second it's possible.

Ahhh, Resident Evil 4. I loved the hell out of the game when I first got it. Played through it four times. I don't think it holds up as much today, especially with all the other third-person shooters like Gears of War and Uncharted with much better control schemes.

Re: AMD 28nm GPU Demo w/ Radeon HD 7000 series video card

I'm really looking forward to the full release of the HD 7000 series. From what I've been hearing, it should be a really big improvement over the HD 6000 series. I wonder if it'll turn out like the HD 5000, which was a huge boost over the HD 4000 and had no Nvidia equivalent for a long time.
