Re: Intel Announces Their New 510 Series SSD Line
450/210 on the 120gb. Seems low compared to the new SF drives doing 550/525. Maybe Intel can make the case for better reliability, but they seem behind on speed, which is the main reason to get a SSD imo.

$200, though I think radio shack has it on sale right now for $150.

Re: Motorola Atrix 4G Smartphone Performance Benchmarks
Interesting read. Phone hardware is really coming along well these days. Been reading about quad cores coming out by year end and the graphics maker of the PowerVR gpus claiming a 100x Performance increase coming possibly as early as 2012. So I am wondering how these chips are going to compare to de...

Re: Core i7-990X Extreme Edition
The revised chipsets might start shipping this week. So it shouldnt be long before they are available again on New Egg. I would definitely get a 2600K to replace the QX6700. The performance gain with the hexacore is only in certain heavily threaded applications and then not even that much. For the e...

Re: Core i7-990X Extreme Edition
Aren't all intel hexacore chips 32nm?
I think its a hugely stupid product. The 2600K is probably still at least 20% faster core to core, and should over clock an extra 300-400 mhz higher. So the benefit of spending the extra $700 seems really suspect.

Re: Intel’s new chip flaw a costly mistake
It does not even seem that bad of an issue, so kudos to Intel for taking the hit on it. The average consumer probably is only using 2 sata ports anyway and it seems that not all of them were bad. I wonder if they could do a $50 rebate or some such instead of a motherboard swap for those people only ...

Oh right duh. Yeah I quite like it a lot. Reminds me a bit of my antec 300; but for the price difference you could get this CM and a 4 pack of their fans and completely outfit it.

Is it me or is the exhaust from the 1000W PSU going right up into the bottom graphics cards fans? Does not look like a good situation right there.

Re: Dual ATI video cards for 3 monitors
Yeah I do not think that will work. Dual Cards might work if they were both PCI-E and in an crossfire setup. I would suggest buying an eyefinity card instead, which supports 3 or more monitors by itself. Like this 5750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150448&cm_re=eyefini...

Re: AMD Phenom II X4 975BE and 840 CPU Reviews
The pricing on the PII X4 975 doesnt seem too competitive now though. The I5 2400 seems to beat it at well everything except wprime and supposedly will cost $184. Now with Intel's OCing changes, the 975 could pull ahead overclocked but Id still like to see AMD drop the price to about $150 to make it...

If you could go to $160 I think youd be well served with a GTX 460.
Oh and you do have a PCI-E x16 slot, the 9800 gt currently occupies it.

It's going to be a great year for a new PC.
That 4.9ghz performance is just amazing. Will have to wait to see how the Hexacores perform, and how AMD counters.

Re: Sandy Bridge
I'm still saving up, but I also want to wait and see how AMD's next cpu performs and if Intel is going to do a significant price drop when they release their hexacore update.
Otherwise looks like a good build. Any reason for the Intel ssd over the SF-1200 ones or Crucial's?

Re: Processor upgrade help
Socket 775 is pretty old now if you can find a cpu it would probably be secondhand.
If you can afford it I think you should do a whole platform update. Cpu, Mobo, Ram.

Re: MSI MOTHERBOARDS BLAZE WITH KILLERT 2100 PERFORMANCE
Hoping they dont tack on another $100 to the price like they did with that graphics/nic that came out awhile back.
It would be enough of an extra feature for me to consider going with MSI over Asus at the same price point though.
