Make sure that RAM timings and voltage are set correctly according to RAM specs. In my case this MB detected my RAM (OCZ) as 1.84 V as opose to 1.95-2.1V I agree with Boris, mine does the same (1.84) with my Corsair XMS. I am only running 2 sticks so it hasn't caused any problems but maybe loading ...

Just to clarify  The Key called "EnableBigLba" with a value of dword:00000001 is IN the FILE named Parameters. It shows as the fourth key down from the top. I think I was getting confused by the reference to "Under" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ata...

Stuart, The following key should be in the registry in this path. I think the "legacy_detection" is a different key. If the key is not there copy the text between the dashed lines into a text file, save it with a .reg extension and double click it and it will add the value to the registry....

Stuart, Running in IDE is fine if NCQ and/or hot swap is not a concern. The previously posted method of gaining the full size of the Raptor works fine either way (I actually installed in IDE mode and did the Acronis image thing before installing the AHCI drivers from device manager). I installed the...

Well Oblivion is a beast but I think maybe a higher end GFX card might get you more for your buck than a CPU upgrade. The 3.4 is not a slouch. That said my 8800GTS is my first Nvidia card since the Geforce2 days so I'm not up to speed with Geforce performance (e.g. 6 series vs. 7 series) I actually ...

Ok, my life on the pc pretty much consists of WoW and internet access. My old pc I built was all MSI Athlon stuff. I came across a deal that I took. A D915PBL with a Pentium4 3.4mhz cpu. The ICH7R is actually a in the chipset, the Marvel is a third party controller. The reason for using it is to give user more SATA ports. The ICH7R can only support 4 ports natively so they tack on the Marvell to add on. I personally (with no real knowledge or data to back it up :) ) would defer to t...
