Re: Asus

I like the standard P6T just as well if not better that the deluxe (cheaper) and all the extras I really could careless about. As for the power management, it dosen't work with a OC'd system anyways, so why bother. As for the Bios, as far as I can see they are pretty much the same and I can OC as hi...

Re: The UPS Truck Came Today!

Are you saying that because of the water block you're using? Or are you saying your double radiator isn't big enough to handle the thermal load? Both :P Dan Wow! Wonder if I'd have to replace my GTZ if I went i7. I was hoping to avoid that. The GTZ works fine for the i7, but you'll need to get a ne...

Re: Corsair HX620W and Dual Powercolor 4870's

I've searched and searched and cannot find if the Powercolor uses the ATI refrence board layout. I'm probably going to have to water cool these bad boys and am wondering if the Koolance card cooler would work. If you're brave, pull your heat sink off and take a look at the position of the component...

Re: Corsair HX620W and Dual Powercolor 4870's

EK makes a 4870 block where you can remove thw V-reg section, you might want to take a look at those, but I'm not sure if the mounting holes would line-up or not.

How very true, but regardless of water cooling or not, i7's run hotter than you're used to seeing on Core2 Quads.

You can run them both off the one cable as long as that one rail has the amps, which it should. ........;)

I also have a bunch of those adapters around the house.

Re: WARMACHINE 1.5 Build Phase

The 4 pin to PCI-e adapters that ship with most cards normally do a OK job of powering the cards, I've had to use them before. As long as the PSU has enough amps to push 2 4870's (and everything else) the adapters will work fine.

Re: WARMACHINE 1.5 Build Phase

I've got one of those laying around as well, but I might be using it on my 3rd 4870 when I get around to installing my old heater core radiator...........;) I'm not totally sure if I want (or need) to go Tri-Fire as of right now.

I had to RMA a XFX 680 board for exactly the same reason, it was determined by the XFX techs to be bad caps.

Build your own water cooling kit with at least a dual radiator for the i7's. They can get extremely warm when OC'd ............

You don't really need to open it up, just blow compressed air in through every opening, that should take card of the problem.
