not if you have any clue what your doign it wont. i got a fully functional LAMP server up and running hosting a website, HLstatsx and a php forum in less than 3-4 hours

unless you can get us more info from the logs (doubtful), it sounds like your compile of your kernel removed something you needed. FWIW, kernel compilation doesn't give you as much performance boosts as it once did, as most distros have there server kernels optimized as much as possible yeah, the o...

switch, not router. your probably not going to get local speeds, simply becuase of distance and network over head. its alot easier to transfer something ~6 inches from one thing to another than it is to transfer something over 100+ feet, through switches routers etc then back in to the mobo controll...
