Re: "Hacked" Dell OptiPlex 755
In the past (DDR 1 days) I had a stick go bad. I suspected it was bad at the time because of the behavior. Problem was Memtest didn't find and error until like the 5th or 6th run during the middle of the night. Since the days of DDR2 and now DDR3 I have never had a stick go bad or have one DOA. I th...

Stick the system out in the garage when it's cold as ballz outside. Also put a small house fan blowing on the motherboard/CPU and go nuts.

2 words x 2. I like. Fingerprint magnet.
I like that they are moving to putting SSD brackets behind the motherboard tray. Helps to clean up the clutter. If were building a rig from the ground up my mechanical drives would all be 2.5" too.

Re: Kingo - Automated Android Root Software
I already have called several times with my cellphone and they say I'm getting what they said I would. Problem is according to their map I have 4G LTE but at times I see my connection go to 2G! (never had 4G at my house, ever). I wasn't even aware that there's such a thing as 2G. To make a phone cal...

I'm glad you ran the Rightmark Audio Analyzer test to confirm my suspicions.
Any thoughts about this? Seems like a total marketing department call. "Hey Bob add gold plating on something so we can say we have it."

Re: Kingo - Automated Android Root Software
I miss Lucky Patcher, and not for what you think. It has a built in adblocking system that modifies the Host file like you do with Windows or OS X. Tethering would be nice but I am not giving Sprint any more money since my phone is worthless at home.

Re: New PC
Have you ever had to clean a radiator in a computer? It's far worse than a HSF in my opinion. I use a 25 gallon compressor at 90 PSI and it still doesn't clean the radiator all that well. The SSHD is the hybrid that works as a HDD with it's own SSD caching algorithm. If you already have a hard drive...

Re: New PC
If you buy either build your GPU won't be bottlenecked and you'll definitely get better frame rates. As for the builds I say either one will be a noticeable improvement over what you have now. If you aren't planing on overclocking then I'd say get the Intel build and skip the Corsair H100i and picku...

Re: OCZ Vector 150 240GB SSD Review
It seems like Toshiba said "here we are, compete or die". For the price and the performance I've seen on other sites it seems like a no-brainer. Windows 8.1 = I'm sorry I had to reformat one of my computers and installed the trial version of Windows 8 and after a week of it I reinstalled W...

Re: OCZ Vector 150 240GB SSD Review
Just a heads up, there are new versions of CrystalDiskInfo and CrystalDiskMark available. http://crystalmark.info/?lang=en If I were in the market for a new drive I don't think I could by an OCZ drive. For one it's on the expensive side for an SSD. And two, from the grumblings around the old interwe...

Manually Trigger TRIM Command on SSD
I found this little app and thought I'd pass it along. After installing a bunch of apps and/or deleting a bunch of stuff I run it. Can't hurt right.

Wow. You were on the right track, Z77 and a SF-2281. More specifically the P8Z77-V Pro BIOS 2104 and an OCZ Agility 3 120GB with firmware 2.50.

Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
I don't have an RMA but I did email them an issue with my motherboard. I reboot the computer and my primary drive disappears and the computer won't boot. I shut down the computer and turn it back on and it detects it without an issue. It isn't a deal breaker but it is rather annoying.

Re: Pagefile Weirdness!
I think that you were on the right track but for whatever reason it didn't stick. In the past I'd set the pagefile to 0, reboot, and then adjust it to the value I wanted. Since you aren't running an SSD as your primary/OS drive I'd say just leave it alone. There were some benefits of playing with it...

Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
This is not encouraging. I sent ASUS an email about a week and a half ago and have never heard anything. You would like to think a huge multinational conglomerate would have more than a handful of people reading emails and processing RMAs. I wouldn't let this go. Unfortunately if you want to get thi...

Re: Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU Cooler Review
The only issue that I encountered when installing the TC12DX was attaching the cooler to the support brackets. The instructions say to tighten the screws until they stop; which is good advice to make sure they are on securely. However, when I was trying to attach the cooler to the brackets, it woul...
