Re: Win8.1 down to Win7
IMO The biggest problem with consumer laptops is the power connector, they're designed so flimsy. Make sure she knows not to bend/twist the cable when she's away from her desk, keep the cord straight out and no tension on it. Usually the USB ports are fine as long as things aren't plugged in while m...

Re: Win8.1 down to Win7
Leave her on Win 8.1 and install something like Start8. Gives the (few) advantages to 8.1 but with the classic start menu and boot to desktop. I think the only time I've ever seen the new UI is for the pdf reader, but that's because I haven't installed acrobat reader lol

Re: Cooler Master HAF Stacker 935 Case Review
I believe in the 915, the cages that comes with it are removable, but I'll verify tonight. Looking at the pics, I see four screws on the bottom, two on the front panel, and four on the top in the area of the drive cage. I can verify tonight though.

That's the type of drive I pictured when I first heard about the "Hybrid" drives, instead of a it being a caching drive.

Re: HDMI Cables
I was using a THICK monster cable, swapped it out for a cheap thinner monoprice hdmi cable, and saw no difference on anything. Even watching Avatar 3D at 60". Recently swapped those cheap hdmi cables for the monoprice hdmi with redmere (wanted the thin cables) and still no difference. Unless yo...

Blacklist sites, UAC (as much as we all hate that), proxy settings, lock down ie options so they can't change them, set the security level lower.

Couple of Days off
So decided to take a few days off at the minute as "me" days. Get a few things done, play some games, etc. First night (last night), instead of relaxing it was spent getting sick, shivering and being all around restless. WHY!!!!!! LOL Oh well, gives me a few days to recover before going ba...

Yup, that it would...then Zalman would be upside down LOL heheeheh Or does that part rotate?bubba wrote: I tried different ways of mounting the block, the way the tubes are set up it flipping it over would have forced tubes up into the upper case fans.

Re: 120mm Water Cooler Round Up w/ Cooler Master, Scythe, Za
I like how the Zalman Reserator 3 looks, but IMHO the tubes are on the wrong side. If this is in a case that I'm showing the system off, I don't want the tubes in front of the CPU block. With so much being nearly equal on these AIO coolers, the way it looks once installed is a big factor.

Re: Adding a SATAIII Controller Card
Have you checked your event viewer to check your boot times, and see what is taking the time? I wrote a document on how to check it for work, I can put it here if you'd like. It comes in handy to see what is exactly taking the time to load at boot.

3TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive - Toshiba/Hitachi
I've had many Toshiba/Hitachi drives last for many, many years...this one is tempting to grab a couple. $89 is the lowest price I've seen for a 3TB drive, wish the 3TB WD Red drives were that price though LOL

I've used a few of ECS boards in the past three or four years, and their quality has greatly increased. Wish I could remember the models but I go through too many systems to remember them all LOL

Tethering would be nice but I am not giving Sprint any more money since my phone is worthless at home. You could TRY to get them to provide you a broadband extender, but you'd have to argue with them for a while. My phone is pretty worthless at home as well, Verizon wants me to buy the extender for...
