Yes Nvidia drivers may cause vista to crash but so does installing vista , But drivers will get better. I'm running a XfX 8800gt and it runs everything i throw at it.

Re: pcie 2.0 for intels
Well changed to yet another mobo. Did a bios update on the striker 2 (well i tried at least) and it blew up  . wouldn't post past detecting dram. So after much cursing and some cooling off :drinkers: (didn't want to throw the board once i pulled it). I yanked the board bought it back to tigerd...

Re: overclocking blues
I have read that thread several times. Yes it is very useful and infomative . Though my voltages are about .2 over what he is running. My temps are still nice and low though. should i be concerned with the higher voltages as long as my temps don't get to high.

overclocking blues
The only way i have been able to stabilize my q6600 at 3.2ghz is to run at over 1.45 volts. Is that to high? My water loop is still staying plenty cool 41-42 degrees under full load. Anyone have any suggestions.

to much memory?
Quick question. I built my system with 4 gb of ram to run vista. I'm REALLY REALLY not impressed with vista so i switched back to xp pro (much happier now). Will the 2x2gb of ram affect (in a negative way) the performance since only 3 gb is recognized?

Re: Mounting fans on a Radiator?
No worries Dan i know how it goes . Ended up using #6 sheet metal screw and the worked great. At stock speeds I am running at 34c across all for processors per coretemp under load, should get a bit better after a bit of burn in.

New Intel Fan!!!
Well after being an amd guy for a few years now, I have switched to the "dark" side. Got my q6600 up and running today, smoked my x2 6400. At stock speeds the x2 only scored 108xx on 3dmark06, the q6600 scored 122xx. Bumped the fsb to 300 bringing my cpu to 2.7 and scored 132xx. Can't wait...

Re: Mounting fans on a Radiator?
The plan was to pull the air through. What i meant to ask (brain doesn't always communicate with the fingers well) is how to physically mount the fans to the rad? The rad has screw holes but they are not threaded. It would be damn near impossible to get nuts on the screws. I was thinking about using...

I figure ill bring that board back and get some pc 8500 for the striker rig. I'm gonna leave the heatpipes alone on this board, I may pick ...

P5K NB heatpipe question
I just picked up an asus p5k mobo. The nb has a passive heatsink with a heatpipe running to another heatsink on the back of the board. I am planning on running this system under water cooling. Should i just cut the heatpipe to eliminate the nb sink and leave the rear heatsink or should i remove both...

I went ahead and picked up the swiftech block for the nb. Looks like it will work well. Ill be able to use the existing wire hooks from the stock heatsink if i can get it loose. Hopefully i can convince the wife to let me purchase the rest of the stuff this weekend.

I really dig the the results you have gotten with your system. I'm running virtually the same system except i have the alphadog extreme (640 core 950 mem stock), And g.skill memory pc 6400 2x2gb. How where you able to attach the waterblock to the nb. Im a bit new to oc'ing, so any advice you may hav...
