Re: Gateway FHD2400 LCD, who owns one?
Yeah, I think I just have to do some more tweaking. It's a big screen and a TN panel so, if you add progressive bi-focals and a dark room well... I must say that other than this issue this is a great monitor, the menu system rocks and it's bright enough to toast the eyes. Colors are great when well ...

Gateway FHD2400 LCD, who owns one?
I bought one of these at BB last weekend. I returned it yesterday for a like exchange because the left half of the screen was a grayish green where the right half was white. The new one has less of the issue (bottom left corner). I don't know if it's just me or I have two bad units. It's not intoler...

Agreed!ibleet wrote:If the 8800 will play all the games you plan on playing, then buy it. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Heck, if you're gonna pay $200 that money would be better spent on an 8800GT 512.

Ruh-Roh! I'm not taking the blame Dan! Actually the HP NAS (or one like it) I linked to earlier (and, in reality Home Server was designed as a NAS appliance with some cool Windows features but I reiterate that I haven't run it or read the EULA)) would be my first recommendation in this situation giv...

Re: Network setup
just a note, you cant use the home server, but a little searching will turn up SBS2003 with 5 CAl's for under $400 ( http://software.pricegrabber.com/windows-family-os/m/1185291/skd=1/search=small+business+server+2003/st=product/sv=title ) :drinkers: Is that EULA driven? from a technical viewpoint ...

Re: Network setup
What they want: They want all the computers in the office to be able to print from their own printers as well as one larger, faster, central printer. The local printers are defined on each PC as default while the central printer will be configured as a shared printer off of the "server". ...

Re: DX10 on XP PCUSER
I often thought that MS should apply DX10 to XP considering what a failure Vista has been. Actually, after having tried DX10 "on Vista" for 9 months, I didn't find much about it that I'll miss. For example: Hellgate London has a DX10 executable which enabled "motion blur&qu...

Re: XP or Vista?
Cool ibleet, truce called :) No flames here. The real fact is that some of us have bad experiences with ANY OS (or hardware) upgrades and we all have different needs. I have actually had great experiences with Vista on several levels of hardware (some considered ancient by enthusiast standards) and ...

Nobody here will discuss pirated software. My advice = "Dont' do it." I'm suprised the thread isn't locked or deleted yet. That said, if you know someone who has the disk I believe it is legal to install it in a "trial" mode without a key and it will be good for 30 days I think. ...

I want to get the best performance, while at the same time get the best image quality. So, this is hard for me because I know that game...

PLease compare these two sets....GIGABYTE GA-P35 DS3L solid capacitor with a Core 2Duo E 6550 Conroe VS. ASUS M2N32 SLI-Deluxe Wireless Nforce 590 with an X2 Brisbane. The prices come out very close for each set up and I was going to pare each with Corsair Ram and a Corsair 550W PSU. Which is the &...

Re: D975XBX2 - SATA drive problems
Hey everyone! I wanted to update this thread as I received my new HD last week. I installed it with no problems and it came right up. I had no problems with installing Vista and no more SMART messages. So far, it's been running really well. The only problem i've been having is when the machine firs...

Re: XP or Vista?
Thanks for your explanations. With every day that passes, I get even more inclined towards installing Vista on my new incoming system. Now, this really interests me: Do the downloads for XP to enable DX10 really exist? With these downloads, will I be able to play DX10 on the very high settings on X...

1) Does Vista 64 bit has a good support for the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card ( 70SB073A00000 ) ? Creative generally has bad support for all operating systems, it's not a matter of the OS's supporting their cards. That being said, I've got my Audigy 2 ZS working in Vista 64-bit...
