y, 100 dollars for the converter (cause thats just what it is) only and then like u sdaid another atleast 400 buck for ram. And a $100 for a converter only is already expensive (ATA to SATA can be had for $20) I believe u if u say ram might be harder to convert, but still prices should get in the 20...

It all depends on what proc, if u buy a pentium4 mobile, it might heat up quit alot. If u buy a Pentium M the heat lvl is normal, and u get the best performance there is (for both desktop and laptops) according to most reviews. If u buy a Centrino cpu, heat lvl is low, but it is not as god as Pentiu...

if u cant lock the agp/pci i would buy another board. If u buy another mobo, and u still got money to burn, i would buy new everything: - new cpu - new mobo - new ram and possibly also a new powersupply.
