Is ATI going to improve HD 4850 Crossfire performance in Crysis via driver updates?

I downloaded the demo today and tried it. I'm quite impressed! Well playable would, for me, be 24-30fps consistently.

Is a single HD 4870 enough to run Crysis on Very High at 1280x1024 playably?

My mobo only has PCI-E 1.0 lanes, but these cards are PCI-E 2.0, is that okay?

Well, from what I see now, ATI (yes, AMD I know) at least it seems to me, has a price-perf advantage, with the 4800s being so cheap. So, my question is: Should I go for the HD 4850 or spend the $100 extra for a 4870? And can anyone tell me how long it is and if it'd fit in the Antec Super Lanboy cas...

I never really understood the hype around DX1. I tried the GOTY edition once, didn't like it too much.

But I do like the music.

tbh, 1.5 patch does nothing for people that dont really use mods, and there aren't that many good mods out right now for COD4 IMO (if there are, pray tell. new skins?).

I just want performance optimizations.

Someone needs to just like get assets from some famous film studio and make a benchmark off of that.

And the 360 Elite is bloody hard to find. Went to 6 different stores over the weekend, none of them had any.

The game actually plays very well with the Xbox 360 controller and looks pretty nice with 6xAA, 16x AF, and a hi-res movie pack.

Does anyone use it? And if you do, is it really as jawdroppingly good as many users and reviewers seem to make it sound?
