Can't install applications
I can't install hardly any applications aside from avg, and auslogics right now. I keep getting errors saying that the file is corrupt. I've tested my ram and even booted with 1 stick in, and then the other. I tried installing to numerous hard drives and I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

Help with my 660 ti
I got the GTX 660 ti by ASUS, the OC (1085mhz)edition. When I try to overclock it crashes almost instantly. I know ever card is different and mine may only be able to clock to stock speeds and that's it. However the guy I got it from said it overclocked to 1200mhz on the core with screen shots and t...

Awesome, I'll get pics up soon. I got out of work late last night, and when I got home I couldn't find my Windows 8 disk, so I had to download and burn one so I could get my drives set up in Raid. I took all of the pics already, but I haven't got them uploaded anywhere yet.

Re: Macro Photography
I use a 100mm macros lens when shooting close ups of SSD controllers, NAND, etc. Macro photography can be fun but typically you need a ring flash or off camera lighting which can be a pain depending on your subject. I know this is digging up a thread, but I haven't been on this site in a while and ...

So I upgraded Zeus, the PC you guys helped me build in 2008
Back in 2008 I built a computer for less than $400. I was really being cheap because I didn't use it for more than the basics and some gaming. It lasted until now and it's still running strong and I have to say it really held up nice. But, because I have been building computer for some of my custome...

Re: Off topic, but still computer related.
That's what I mean. Think of it from a stand point of owning intel. What would your primary goal be? Run AMD out right? To me the easiest way to run them out would be sacrifice a temporary loss. 2 billion maybe 4 at most. (chump change right?) If they would drop the price so competitively like the q...

Off topic, but still computer related.
I have noticed lately the cost of computer parts did not do what I expected. I mean, when the core i7 and core i5 processors by intel came out. I expected the price of budget level CPUs such as the E5200 or higher level q9550s to drop. Instead the price of all of the parts seem to be rising. If this...

Re: looking for new grahpics/video cards
If your budget is a grand you have nothing to worry about man. You can get a VERY nice system for that much. Like max out any game with no problem system. Or more ram than you could use and a super fast processor. I'm going to get ready to go out in a bit. But, I'm sure you could get A good Motherbo...

Re: Buy a laptop
I see you have a very wide spectrum of what you are looking for. But, you are in luck because $1500 gets you a lot now. The only thing I think we need to get started on helping you out is just a basic size. How portable are you planning on this being. Are you looking for a small 14" laptop, a m...

NEVER EVER EVER BUY GEAR HEAD!!!!!!
I didn't see a section for input devices. I have purchased a $50 wireless keyboard and mouse from newegg branded by Gear Head. I just wanted a nice wireless keyboard that had a media fast forward and rewind key. And if you look at neweggs site they discontinued the keyboard and mouse I purchased. If...

Re: AMD Changes the Game with ATI Radeon HD 5800 DirectX 11
I'm really glad this gpu was powerful. I have always been an AMD fan and until the last 2 years I couldn't justify getting AMD processors. They made a huge purchase of ATi and then came out with some great cards. The only problem in this chess game they are in right now. Is if they were to always ju...

Re: Mobo Install
whenever I get a motherboard, I throw in my ole faithful 256mb of ddr2 667 that I know works, plug it up to my psu, put my old lil 40gb hard drive on it, and then turn it on. if it loads windows it's good. It's the fastest easiest way to find the problem if you are working on a computer that won't b...

lol well, you could fix or replace the fan if it's a common size. OR you could replace your video card to match your current card and it wouldn't cost much.

Re: looking for new grahpics/video cards
at 1024x768 won't he be limited by his CPU more than GPU anyways? What are your plans for your computer, are you planning on just updating the video card and ram and being done with it? Or are you planning on a full system overhaul? The reason I ask is the suggestions are based on the fact you have ...

Re: looking for new grahpics/video cards
When I looked up the board it has a PCIe x16. Meaning you can put a GTX 295 in there if you wanted to. What price range are you looking for?
