Re: Samsung SSD Angels Viral Marketing Video Series 2012

Haha...it does make a big difference. I bet a lot of ppl think that they need to upgrade their laptop because of a slow processor when really the hard drive is the bottleneck.

I don't like the electoral college system either...it's antiquated and subject to corruption.

Re: Wireless Router Question

Thanks for the help. I ended up picking up the ASUS RT-N66U router (thanks to Ken's review) and, so far, am very happy with it. The 5Ghz band reaches throughout my whole house (the router is upstairs too) no problem and I'm seeing good speeds. A surprising number of my devices (TV's, gaming wifi ada...

Makes sense...I suspected something like that which is why I was looking at the WD Red drives. I'll check the other ones out too, thanks.

Yep on both accounts. I may end up investing in some WD Red drives that are intended for server/NAS applications.

Synology NAS

I've had a Synology NAS DS209 for a few years now. I originally had two Seagate 1.5TB drives (RAID 1) in but every few months it kept telling me a drive failed and after checking it out, I would have to rebuild the RAID volume. All would be fine and then it would happen again a few months later. I n...

Re: First impressions of the Apple I-Phone 5

I don't have any issues with mine. Map of my area seems accurate, came scratch free, and doesn't have any of the other problems described. It does rattle a bit when shaken (volume buttons) but who cares? All of these issues can be found in all the other smart phones. No manufacturing process is perf...

Re: Arctic Breeze USB Fan Review

I'm always hot at my desk at work and usually have a fan going. I'd buy one although I could do without the LEDs. I bought a non-name version years ago that I found at Microcenter (only one I had ever seen). It worked for about 10 minutes then died and caused a BSOD :( I've been wary ever since but ...

Wireless Router Question

To the Ken's, Bill and any other networking guru's... I'm not that well versed with networking stuff (enough to be dangerous) and I've been thinking about getting a new wireless router. I'm currently using a Linksys WRT310N which has performed flawlessly and I've been happy with. However, most of th...

Re: Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 Case Review

I order this case - http://www.iphonecaze.com/iphone5/iphone-5-zero5-ultra-thin-cases.html I just wanted something to give light protection from scratches without bulking it up. For all the iPhones I've had (knock on wood) I've never dropped one. This one is supposed to be the most durable yet it te...

Re: Corsair Neutron 240GB SSD Review - Link_A_Media Controll

To be fair Indilinx and SandForce at one point were unproven also. I doubt that a company like Corsair would ship a subpar product (knowingly). To boot the more controller manufacturers there are out there the better for us, the consumer. True, but when those controllers were relatively unproven, t...

Re: Macro Photography

I use a 100mm macros lens when shooting close ups of SSD controllers, NAND, etc. Macro photography can be fun but typically you need a ring flash or off camera lighting which can be a pain depending on your subject.
