Maybe the older software favours older cards? X800XL has 16 pixel pipelines while X1950Pro has 12. The score may not be so surprising.
OK thanks.

I rolled the drivers back and ran bechmarks again. 3dmark03 went from 12203 to 15023. 3dmark05 went from 5797 to 7934. 3dmark06 went from 2028 to 4409. I am happy so far with all the benchmarks, but what has me confused is 3dmark2001se, the scores went from 23171 to 22716. WTF is up with that?????? ...

Drivers are catalyst 7.1 and I've tried a bunch of different settings so far. I think I might try a fresh install of windows. I've been running the same install for over 2 years now. I used to install fresh once a year.

X1950 PRO 512 AGP

OK so I have been running this card x1950 pro 512 agp for a while now and decided to run some benchmarks. WTF is going on? Scores have dropped by around 17%. I was using a x800xl. I'm going to plug it back in and see what happens, but damn that just doesn't sound right.

Help, system shut down

I upgraded to a x1950 pro 512mb agp recently and also installed the latest drivers. I'm running XP pro. Twice since the change my system has shut down without notice and upon restart the second time I got the "system has recoverred from a fatal error" message. When I sent the error report ...

Installed ATI Tray Tools and it seems to do the trick. I haven't tried to take it too far yet. But I will pretty soon.

Thanks for the help,
Chris

honestly imo the motherboard really dictates how neat and organized you can have your cabling that and second is your power supply. thats why if I buy another I think I'll go modular so I can just not have so many peripheral cables not being used taking up space in my case. I'm definately going mod...

Based on some reviews of the x1950 pro 512mb AGP, it is hit or miss if your ard will be good with overclocking but more so good: http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/Sapphire%20X1950Pro%20AGP/overclocking.php http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=2170&cid=3&pg=11 Nice, I just got ...

Is the card a poor overclocker? What should I expect?

OC'ing HIS x1950 pro 512mb agp

I just bought the HIS x1950 pro 512mb agp and am having no luck at all with OC'ing it. Is there something I'm missing? Tried using ati tool and then read that ati tool does not support the x1950 pro. Tried using ati control center with no luck at all. Any help would be great.
