I thought Final Cut Pro took a huge nosedive in quality with the last release, or are you using something else. Otherwise looks good. Though with Jobs passed on I wonder how long till they just start selling OSX for any x86-64 machine.

Re: Replacement processor fan
I'm using a Corsair A50 myself, great heatsink/fan for $25 and it was fairly easy to install. Though you probably will need to remove the motherboard to put on the back plate for the cooler, and it's kind of large so doing a quick measurement would be good.

Re: Have You Been *Denied* A Mail In Rebate?
I've never been denied. I am also super anal about doing it exactly as told. But maybe its just that I typically only buy Antec, Corsair, Asus, and EVGA. The two companies you mentioned, XFX and Galaxy I have always thought were second tier more bargain oriented brands; and maybe they use a 2nd tier...

Max Payne 3 - I hold out hope this will be awesome. It IS from Rockstar. I hope it will even be on PC and they don't skip it like they did Red Dead. Otherwise I was in the BF3 beta, but didn't care for it enough to buy it at release. So I am going to pick that up either as christmas gift or when it...

I love the new design. Hopefully they update their whole line up now with this is a basis, much like the 900 was a few years back. I want a new 300 with those features and styling just smaller with no Window at $50.

Re: BitFenix Outlaw PC Gaming Case Review
It looks really nice for $49. Makes me wonder when Antec will get off their rear and update the 300 to match. Though I am not sure about the motherboard orientation of this case. Having the CPU right above the PSU, with only the rear exhaust near it does not look good to me. It loses out on having t...

Re: Intel Core i7-2700K Sandy Bridge 3.5 GHz CPU Review
Why do they only do a 100mhz bump? My 2600k with a $25 air cooler has been running at 4.5ghz with 24/7 stability and temps never even hitting 60. So why do they keep their stock clocks so low with this architecture. I would have put the 2700k at 4ghz with a 4.2 turbo and included a better air cooler...

I'm really tempted to buy a 2nd set now for $50, but I dont know if I will get much out of 16gb of ram over 8gb. Awesome ram though, and I love the Blue color!

Re: The Right Way to Dispose of Old Computers
Where I live every few weeks I get a flyer for recycling electronics in the mail, and you just put them on the street in a box with the flyer tapped to them and someone comes and picks it up. I hope more cities have this, a lot of stuff in computers that really needs recycling.

Re: Which GPU to buy (BF3)
I thought BF series favors AMD. Or at least I could swear the last frostbyte engine did. I have an Nvidia GTX 560ti, and the beta played wonderfully on it, but then I didn't change the stock settings. So If you want to just be able to play it smoothly at good settings a AMD 6870 or Nvidia GTX560 wou...

Did they have any specs for it? At one point I thought it was only going to be a ULV Core i5/i7 with HD3000 graphics, or will it have a more powerful graphics chip in it?

I have a G5, its not the same, but its a 5 button mouse and I don't use the setpoint software and it still lets me use the side buttons in applications, and to move back and forth in web browsers.

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
Some of the test results include the 2500K and some don't. While I had three 2500K processors at one point, I sent them all out to other reviewers and didn't get them back in time for this review. A miss on my part. But with the 2120 and 2600K included I think you can fill in the void. As I'll be o...

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
FX8150 + 990FX mobo + DDR3 = shitload less than Intel platform How? From New Egg, 8150 $279.99, 2600k $315, 2500k $219 Amazon has the 8150 for $269.99, but then you could pick up a 2600k at a Microcenter for $279.99. New Egg seems to be the preferred choice so I'll use that for comparison. Cheapest...

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
The performance level is enough that AMD remains a reasonable choice and around for more years to push Intel, but not high enough that I regret that I bought a 2600k back in June. So it's pretty good from my point of view. *Edited for clarity, my writing ability after a mountain dew fueled gaming ma...

Re: Need speaker recommendations.
Is it the speakers themselves or the amplifier/sub box? I had a creative thx set where the center channel died, but the speakers themselves were fine it was only the amp/sub that was broken. The speakers I have used the standard speaker hook up. So I went out and got a Yamaha 7.1 receiver for about ...

The beta is playing super smoothly at default setting on my 2600K and gtx560ti with the BF3 beta driver release. It also looks fantastic. Sadly they have some moron in charge of picking maps for the beta and they went for a garbage rush map that is nothing but a campfest. A map where I havent seen a...

Re: Leaked SiSoft Sandra Scores Show AMD FX 'Zambezi' Bulldo
Depends on the piece of software. AMD is providing the cores, the software developers need to figure out how to take advantage of them. Should developers work to make their software better support 8 threads or 16 threads when they could be working on GPGPU support which so far appears to give perfo...

Re: ASUS ROG MARS II 3GB Video Card Preview
I was thinking the same about it not being liquid cooled. Say I won the lottery and would actually spend 200% the cost of a GTX 590 for a 22% performance increase; I'd want it to be liquid cooled.
