3.5Ghz on air cooling
I would try to get close to or past 4Ghz if i could trust the ntune temp reading but i dont!? bios monitor 10-12 degrees cooler than ntune??? Any other good programs to monitor temps under vista 64? core temp doesnt work speedfan i tried got virus had to format and reinstall (not happy :evil: ) Also...

just disable speedstep and C1E enhanced halt state reboot
then set ur multi at 10 reboot

well thats just my problem temps? more precisely being able to monitor them in vista 64 is a prob! I dont trust the readings Ntune gives for the temps and fan speeds as temps in bios are 10-12 degrees cooler than ntune displays ? also my fan speed in ntune for spu says upto 5000rpm when my cpu fan o...

could prob get 4Ghz
I prob could get 4Ghz but im happy with 3.5Ghz at the moment plus im only using air cooling (thermaltake 120vx) if i wanted to go higher i think i better get liquid cooling????

Nice overclock im at 3.5ghz with an e6700 ? mind u i havent pushed it further. If u can nearly reach this with an e6300 i might try and go higher

E6700 @ 3.5Ghz (air cooled thermaltake 120vx)
I think as long as u keep the temps of the core 2 chips at their rated level (0-60 degrees cel i think) you will be fine and they should last just as long as a stock clocked duo.
