Not Much Of An Update

Not much of an update, other than to say my case is off being powder coated, and the last little thing I did to it before I sent it was to cover a couple of holes on the back plate and epoxy on a little structural support for a corner that I'd weakened a little more than I was comfortable with. http...

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's Off To Work We Go...

Got a pretty good ebay deal on a graphics card this weekend. Will be nice to finally retire my beloved GTX 480. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/827/16lk.jpg MSI R9 290 - £215 shipped... :D It's blatantly been used for mining, but I have a copy of the original invoice should it ever requi...

T-T-Titanium ;)

I've been able to get away without having a fill port on my reservoir by using the quick disconnects just before it on the graphics card, but it's a really awkward way of filling it. A res without a fill port is a very sorry res indeed, so I had to find somewhere to connect up one of the unused res ...

Mod In A Box

I'm about 2 holes away from being able to powder coat this rig, but I need a stepped drill bit to make them, and the only place I can find one is at a Maplins that's an hours round trip away. Which I don't have time to go to yet. :( Anyway, thought you'd get a kick out of how I'm currently running m...

Caging The Monsta

From the last set of photos, it looked like the radiator might actually fit completely internal to the case. I'd already measured it by this point, and knew it wouldn't quite. I was prepared for this though as the P182 has a drive bay door, and behind that, space is allocated for dust filters. Witho...

Go Big or Go Home!

So about that radiator mount I attempted before, it didn't work. I couldn't find a hole saw the right size and didn't trust my freehand circle cutting ability (though I still might end up doing some later ;) ), so I decided to get it done properly (laser cut) out of steel. Here's the design I made.....

The Slowest Modder In The World!

Next month marks the 5 year anniversary of this mod. And it's still not finished. >_< I'm going to try a little harder to make some time to finish it off, but I got engaged at the end of last year, and am currently neck deep wedding planning, so don't hold your breath. :P --- Ok, first up, I've gott...

Re: Project Overdrive

I needed to sort out the big gap at the front of the ODD bays, and I just happened to have some spare acrylic on hand... http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/546/89c7.jpg And with a small cutout to put the drive through, the hole will be nice and covered. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x...

Re: Project Overdrive

LOVE the re-wired power switch and connector :P Moving the PSU just allowed you to have any style CPU heatsink right? I was actually going to try and make my own bulkhead fitting before I realised I could kill two birds with one stone and just hack apart an old PSU. Definitely proud of that one! Ye...

Re: Project Overdrive

always nice to see some modding, the extent of modding on my own PC is just cut out fan grills and holes drilled through the motherboard tray Can't wait to see it with some hardware inside 8) Thought the forum could do with a new mod post so decided to share. ;-) --- Ok, now I've started putting so...

Project Overdrive

Hi Guys, long time no see! Thought you might like to see the latest case mod I'm underway with, it's pretty reserved in terms of specs, but I'm really pleased with how it's coming together. :) --- As an effort to move my friends from console gaming to PC gaming, I've offered to build a PC for one of...

Re: Supercooled Rig!

If you need to freeze the gel to get its temperature down to 2ºC, then it's not going to stay at (or return to) 2ºC when you add the heat from the PC. Especially if you're then only cooling it again with ambient air. If the gel is chilled when put into the cooling loop, those temperatures are possib...

Re: DefenderPad Review: Protecting You Laptop Radiation

But, that's falling back to cellular radiaton being the majority of the SAR, which 99% of laptops dont have. Following on from that, wifi and Bluetooth have their anntena's located in the display bezel, so already away from direct absorption, reducing their SAR factors massively compared to phones e...

Re: DefenderPad Review: Protecting You Laptop Radiation

Now I have no problem as this thing as a heat shield, and wouldn't mind something like that to be honest. But is there really that much 'radiaton' emmited from laptops that they can make it a viable selling point and then charge $90 for it?!

Digital Calipers FTW!

The tollerances on fitting the Alphacool Nexxxos Monsta 420mm (3x140mm) in my case are going to be down to 0.5mm. Before I bought the radiator I had no way of knowing 100% if it was all going to fit. I always said I liked a challenge though! As there is quite literally no room to fit 140mm fans on m...

Re: Project P182 Watercooled V2!

Phenomenal! :prayer: Thanks :D that has to be the most cable tidy rig i have ever seen. not seen cables looking that tidy on the back of motherboard for a long long time, so congrats on that achievement. Unfortunatly my non modular psu is horrid for my new case. don't get me wrong i finally have 80...
