Re: ASUS My Cinema EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card Review
This is tempting as I'm getting ready to make some changes on my HTPC. I'm building a similar PC for a friend who would like HTPC capability but not its primary function...I may have to give this a shot and toss my year old PCI tuner card into the other machine.
Great first review!!

Re: i7 920 Core Overclocking
Check out the review in the link here... http://www.legitreviews.com/article/885/1/ On the bundle and BIOS page you can see the settings I used to reach 3.6 with complete stability. I don't get into "how to" in the article but I think that would be something really helpful for people as th...

Re: Thermalright AXP-140 HTPC CPU Cooler Review
I only have one Core 2 processor left these days, the early B2 E6700 that was used here. If I can get my hands on the 1366 mount I may give it a ride on an i7 920.Gomeler wrote:Any chance of a 65nm B3 Q6600 or a Core i7? Curious how it handles excessive amounts of heat.

Re: Thermalright AXP-140 HTPC CPU Cooler Review
It was fairly straightforward once you figure out the right order to do things, much easier than the XP120. Put on your thermal goo of choice and then set the heatsink on the motherboard, aligning the screws into the holes. Hold the base of the heatsink on to the board with one hand and flip the boa...

Re: Cooler Master V10 issue
The ATCS 840 is lined up close enough to work with the Rampage 2 Extreme, but it's a HUGE case! With the temps you are getting I think the TEC may be on full blast all the time which is why you have the beep. The way the controller is set up, it will rarely (if ever) go full power. I'm assuming that...

Re: Cooler Master V10 issue
I haven't had any issues with mine thus far. I only skimmed the directions also but see no mention of any sort of setup. The cooler is pretty good even without the TEC, so should be able to run it without the TEC enabled to get rid of the beep until they provide a resolution, just unplug the molex p...

Intel Core i7 D0, worth every cent
Got my 920 in from Tank Guys today, had my system up for about 30 minutes now after I fried a hard drive. ](*,) Decided to see just how far I could go on 1.2v with the ASUS P6T Deluxe, this is on a TRUE heatsink... I'm typing this post at 4.2 GHz with HyperThreading on, but I'm pretty sure I'm at th...

Re: ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme Motherboard Review
For the daily stuff I've got a pair of WD 640GB Black drives in RAID 0 and performance is as expected. From what I have read and seen the ICH10R is solid until you start building a serious disk subsytem. Do not expect anything higher than 620MB/s read or write, but you should be looking at a discret...

Re: Intel 32nm Westmere Desktop Processor Roadmap Exposed
Exciting news. I just got my i7 920 but those 32nm processors are looking good, first silicon boots up an OS is really impressive!!
Intel is really on top of "tick tock", pulling 32nm in so far that they are going to cancel 45nm parts...wow!

Re: Running 12GB of DDR3 Triple Channel Memory on Intel Core i7
I've been playing around with VM's lately and plan to get really serious on it soon to get certified. I've been running them on my file server but would rather not compromise the stability and 24/7 nature of that system. It looks like it might be time for me to move over to Core i7, the systems have...

Re: Windows Xp is the future. It's too good to die..
I still prefer XP but am running Vista 64 on my main machine due to the fore mentioned memory limitations. I'm in the process of setting up a new box for someone and it is XP, I forgot just how much snappier and responsive it is, even with 2GHz less CPU power.

Re: Bwall - What's up?
Sorry guys, as Apop said I left Wed. and was expecting to see 43-50k ppd while I was gone. I brought a 3rd GX2 and my 9800 GTX online in the Cyberpower PC. Unfortunately, I can't figure out what exactly happened, other than possibly a minor power hit. In order to have things running the way I would ...
