I use IE7 and have no problems at all :) Of course turn the Phishing filter off, but other than that it should run the same as IE6. Mike I do have problems with it just closing every now and again, but I dont know if that is IE7, flash, or just the websites I am on at the time. Maybe the NET 3.0 wil...

also make sure that the back side of the motherboard is not touching the case. I actually had one that the solder points on the back were long for some reason, and it would short out on the case. Is it JUST the cables you put back on, or do hook the drives up also? Just the cables you might have a w...

Workaround to install Vista UPGRADE on a machine with No OS

Ok, this seems legit.

A pain in the arse, but doable if you buy an upgrade version and not full retail

Yea I would recommend the same- reset BIOS, then if it doesnt work pull everything off the MB and try again. You might also try to pull all the memory off and try a different stick, or just try 1 stick of memory - is it doesnt work, pull that one off and try a different one. Just some thoughts - and...

I am still curoius if you start the upgrade inside of XP, will it ask if you want to do an upgrade or a full install like that last blog was saying. That would be at least a little better, since you would not have all the XP crap AND Vista crap on the computer.

Ok so as long as the video card is not on the motherboard it will have no effect on overclocking the cpu and/or the memory, correct?

never thought about a PCI video card..lol..dont have any of those left, but can probably get one REAL cheap or free :)

Thanx

Ok, I was looking at this MB - Gigabye GA-965P-DS3 - but i do not have a PCI-E video card, and no money to get a decent one right now. I was wondering if the boards with built in video would overclock as well. I have been reading the reviews on sites taht state the on board video kills the overclock...

Depends which voucher you have, you might have to actually pay something for the "upgrade" I have been hearing that some of them come with true, free vista upgrades, but others follow that $ amount that MS was using - I cant remember what it was, like $49 or something for home premium. If ...
