Will I see an improvement between these two processors?

Hey,

I want do get into HD video editing with my computer but my current system setup doesn't edit or view HD that well.

I have 2 gb ram, a kickass graphics card, and a good harddrive.

Im pretty sure the problem is with my AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+.

So i'm on Socket 939 right now and I think the fastest upgrade I can get is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4800+.

Do you think that there will be a big improvement in HD editing with this upgrade from 4200+ to 4800+

doubtful, your looking at 200mhz difference here

Just overclock it. You should be able to get to 4800+ speeds on stock cooling with minimal effort.

get a ds3 and a q6600 and you're set :D

You will not see a noticeable difference with those 2 cpu's. Time to upgrade more than just cpu if you're looking for better performance. Maj0r is on the right track.
