well, you dont have a quad core, or 5 harddrives, or a high end graphics card, so that is a completly meaningless number
I'm not saying his power consumption would be the same as mine. I'm just pointing out that you don't need as much power as you think. Recommended PSU Wattage by eXtreme outervision for my rig was 337W. Most of the time, I'm consuming a third of that. At load, it didn't even reach half. I already have four hard drives, it's not like adding another one will increase power consumption by a lot. Depending on the efficiency of the power supply on that load, actual power consumption of components is less than measured by the Kill-A-Watt.

Current total (Kill-A-Watt) - 200W
+1 HDD - 30W
+Q6600 - 100W
+high end GPU (non SLI/CF) - 200W
Total consumption after upgrade: 530W

The above values already have fairly generous allowances. Actual consumption probably won't even be close. 800W is just overkill.
