That is a 2hr stream of the PS3 launch @ the E3. After viewing that, all I can say is wow... WOW. I kind of felt something die inside when I saw the PS3 compared to the latest computers running SLI 6800 Ultras, Nvidia's RSX gpu is scary. One year from now I am afraid to see the wars between Nvidia and ATI as I am sure those two will be releasing insane GPUs.

ok, that entire alfred molina segment was incredible... the explosion at the gas station was kind of a letdown, for me. it looked like the explosion stopped kinda abruptly... somewhat unrealistic, physically. the demos at the end of the clip are amazing.

the demo for killzone is ridiculous.... it gave me goosebumps. i cant wait for the future of pc gaming.

The PS3 will have a speed of 2.18 teraflops, which by rule of thumb, equates to about the power of 50 PC's.

The graphics will make two 6800 Ultra's in SLI mode look slow.

Why not replace you're desktop with one of these running Linux? I'm first in the queue for one....

because in 3mths the computer will supass even this fancy new console. With the new phisics cards, new video cards, and dual core on the horizon i think you will see the computer again take over. Thats not to say that these things are not impressive. I think the designers were looking to get a design that would last for 4-5 years, where as computers evovle eveyr 18mths or so.

Yes, I agree with Infinite on this, but I think it will be a little longer than 3 months :P

I guess I am just surprised on the "cell" CPU design, but maybe I am understanding it wrong, but the "cell" has 8 SPEs which I think are equal to 8 CPUs? or something? Because that thing is powerful like Jig said, 2.8 Teraflops...

well, to my understanding, they just started using cell processors a few months ago in a few airports and whatnot for their radar systems and stuff.... each cell cpu is equal to about 500 regular cpus. they are trying to incorporate this technology in the medical imagery field.
