Urgent! Laptop Crashed and now Adobe Programs Disappeared

Post by geokilla »

So we're working at our respective homes, using Illustrator when my friend suddenly pops out of nowhere, saying that most of the work is gone because her Adobe Illustrator crashed. She said she went to Task Manager to end the program. Once the program ended, her comp (laptop) froze so she turned it off. She turned it back on, and tried to continue with her work, but then Adobe disappeared from her computer. It's not in Start> Programs, anywhere. She searched the comp using the search function, and it wasn't there as well.

I tried telling her to do System Restore, and it didn't work. Finding the program in Safe Mode didn't work either. WTH happened?! STUPID MEDIA WORK IS DUE TOMORROW P5 AND THIS HAPPENS >.<

Help please. [-o<

BTW, her laptop uses Vista.

never heard of that one... Did she save the file? Is the work still on the PC? Why not just re-install it?

I have no idea how that can happen either. I' hope she's not making things up since the deadline is tomorrow, and we're all working like crazy... And she's not really the type to slack off either.... I think she did save her work, but her work is gone as well. It's kinda shocking how only the homework related stuff are gone. I didn't hear her complain bout anything other files disappearing....

She can't reinstall it because she had to go. Plus, IE downloads the Illustrator tutorial and once the download is done, she can never open the file. She might have a chance of success with Firefox but she absolutely hates Firefox =.=

I think the programs are crashing on her laptop. When I used it for a short while, I thought it was a bit messed to begin with.

I told her to check under there as well, and she said it's not there.

Thank God we got an extra day to finish the project. [-o<
