Ok my desktop (WinXPPro, DualCoreAthlon, 2GB RAM) has been acting weird the past two weeks. When I try and turn my computer on it sounds like it is starting up but my monitor just remains blank with a blinking light.(Obviously saying it is getting no signal.) and my keyboard never lights up or blinks or anything. However, if I flip the power supply switch off and on it will boot just fine. Ive checked cables and video card to be sure they are seated and connected, and now I am getting worried about it!
Thank you in advance for any help!
PS. I am overclocking my 3600+ Brisbane to almost 3Ghz and so I was worried that had something to do with it. But I bumped everything down and it still does it so I guess that is not the problem?
O... I also think i remember it shutting down while I was on it and doing the same thing, though Im not 100 percent sure.

Re: Blank Screen on Boot
I actually just went through this same experience myself, checked every cable and reseated every card but I just couldn't get the screen to light up...let's just say I went to bed angry
After sleeping on it, I realized I hadn't checked my RAM and sure enough the sticks weren't seated properly...after that monitor worked fine.
Moral of the story: Make sure EVERYTHING is properly seated (also be sure the power is off while doing so). If that doesn't work, might try a different monitor?
Actually, might be a good idea to clear your CMOS first then try that other stuff...

Re: Blank Screen on Boot
Yea I did check my RAM cause I read somewhere else that fixed their problem. Same crap. I guess i should reset CMOS since I have made a lot of changes to the BIOS doing the overclock, but that's the same reason I dont want to reset it.
(By the way it has been running fine for months and just started doing this so the OC was not the cause originally)
The thing I cant figure out is, why would it work EVERY time when I flip the power supply switch, but not at all on a regular shutdown/startup?
The above statement should also disprove my monitor being bad. If that was the case it would still post and get to Windows but mine currently does neither. My keyboard never comes alive.
On a side note that may or may not be related, the past couple of days while I was on the internet I suddenly lost connection. my Local Area Connection in the taskbar read "Limited or No Connectivety" A simple repair of the connection fixed the problem but could that be linked to my current problem? Something with my motherboard maybe?

Re: Blank Screen on Boot
**UPDATE**
I ended up reseting CMOS and there was no change. I decided to just take everything out and put it all back together. I took every piece of hardware out, including Motherboard and CPU and cleaned everything and put it all back together. It still does the exact same thing. If I turn the power supply on and off it will boot fine but if I just shutdown and then press the power button, everything spins up and appears to run fine but I still get the black screen. dont think it ever makes it to windows.
So I was thinking, does the problem reside in my PSU? Maybe it went bad, a capacitor not holding a charge or something? But if everything turns on I dont know how that can be. Im getting frustrated and I guess I will call Antec tomorrow. Any input is still appreciated.
