Nvidia raid controller
Nvidia raid controller
So i set up a raid 1 for my dads PC, but the motherboard used an Nvidia raid controller. It cant have been more than a month of it working perfectly fine that the two drives de-synced and broke the set up. So i fixed it back up and rebuilt the backup but seeing as this happened so soon i looked on the internet to see if this is common, overall it was hard to see how common it was but (and hears the question). Can i really expect this to happen again (or at least have a reasonable time frame; i.e. 2 years, between this happening) or is it worth it to grab a raid controller next time I'm down at a hardware fair.
Re: Nvidia raid controller
I have been using nv raid 0 for years now, and never once has it lost an array on it's own.. PEBCAK errors have lost me one or two though... So in my experience, I would have to say no, you should not need a controller card.
