Wow, I've never seen that one before...looks like Cedega may have messed up your root privileges. Do you have multiple accounts on the computer? If so be sure you're signed into to one you used to install the system.

Could try this, in particular post #6, to make sure your account has sudo rights...other than that I'd suggest a wipe and reinstall, that would probably be the quickest and easiest.

If you do reinstall, create a separate home partition! It's saved me many headaches when reinstalling or trying out new distros...[link]

You could even try to save your current /home/ by following this guide before reinstalling but if you're reinstalling anyway easier to just back up and restore stuff on the new partition than trying to split it.

well Alathald im honored... Anyway i ended up reinstalling Linux, installed alot faster than Xp and vista, which is good.

I suppose if i come with any other problems ill just send you a pm.

Oh yea after reading some more on the official ubuntu forums it looks like it was my fault, i must of in apporiatly used the 'chown' command to own over file and that way sudo also didnt work

Nah, I'm just the only Linux geek on the forums that has enough free time for this stuff...everybody else has jobs and a life

Plus I was on a Linux binge this weekend so lots of stuff is still fresh :partyman:
