Add/Remove PGMs has huge blank space--AGAIN!!!

Post by unfaithfulsfan »

OK, I'm stumped and Pissed.

Finally got the infection cleared on the Dell POS Dimenstion 2400 (with a whopping 256 MB of RAM --can you say **double yawn** I finally got smart and slapped in a gig for the duration of the repair)

Now I've got the ol' huge blank space in Add/Remove. Actually it's not blank, it's a variety of colors.

Anyway, I've gone thru HK_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall and made sure that no program has a -1 on the "Display Icon" key

I've even removed the two programs just before and just after the blank space. :-k

I'm really stumped (did I also mention pissed?) I really want to get this POS off my bench so I can go back to writing my 30+ articles for the boss's blog  Yep, that's right. I have to write articles for his blogs. 500+ words per article x 30+ articles. That's a hella lot of words. I'll be like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" before it's over :axe:

*can you believe it, now I'm a writer. I always wanted to be a writer and now I've got the chance and I feel like it's a damn homework assignment!* #-o

That's beside the point, though. Anybody got any ideas at all on this conundrum?

Thanks,
Jack

no idea about your computer problem but having your boss take credit for your work just doesnt seem right. Why dont they just call it Jack's Blog... since thats what it is.

I had the same thing and pretty much just ignored it since it was just blank space and didnt affect anything.

i agree, if you are writing the blogs you should get credit for them.

Well, not to completely change the subject of this post but now I just got bitched out because the computer's not ready. He apparently went to HS with this guy and gave him a ridiculously low price for the repair and it's taking longer than normal to fix it. That of course is all my fault so the giant dump truck load of crap just got emptied straight onto my head in the form of a screaming phone call.

I'm so effing sick of his crap. I told my wife I'm ready to take our merchandising side business to the closest street corner and start selling stuff or start going door to door. At least it would be mine and on the off chance I do screw up it'll be genuinely my mistake. I won't have to deal with a sawed-off bald-headed tyrant of a boss. I won't get the blame for his mistakes any longer.

God, I'm so effing sick of his crap!

Thanks for letting me vent!
