Problems with BluRay playback

Post by ratNukit »

Hello everybody,

As you could probably guess I have a few problems with the playback of BluRay Movies. I Have my pc ( sig ) with a blu ray player and Cyberlink Power DVD 8 as a playback Programm. When watching BluRay Movies only my LG 5700 32" is active as it doesn't want to play when cloning. I have no problems running title like " Deatch at a Funeral " " Breaking and Entering" " Hairspray " " The Orphanage", but when trying to start Iron man I get the blue Iron Man reconstruction loading sign for about 3 - 5 seconds and then it freezes, doesn't do anything for 10 min and after a few tries I gave up. When trying to play " The Happening " I just get a black blank screen and it doesn't do anything either.
The only thing I noticed is that Iron Man and The Happening have Mpeg2 Intro vids and all the others I tested seem to have Mpeg4 on start up, I don't know if that is of any help.

If anybody has a idea how to get this fixed I would appreciate it.

Thanks :)

I'm guessing you did the obvious... update the motherboard BIOS, update the video card driver, update PowerDVD 8 and ensure that hardware aceleration is enabled in the PowerDVD settings.

What IGP or graphics card are you using?

Also be sure that secondary displays are disabled.

I have Iron Man and have run it on the GeForce 9300 IGP, Intel 4500HD and also on the Radeon HD 4830, 4850, 3850 and 4550 with no problems.
