I am asking here can i clock my ddr3 corsair 1600 mhz to run at 1600 or above 1333 mhz
even if my cpu E8500 is a intel 1333 mhz 3.16 ghz on this board ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP @n ??

I've got this board and have been able to run it at 450MHz FSB (1800 effective) with absolutely no hassle.

If your memory supports XMP, enable that and it will set the rest of your system up automatically.

If your memory doesn't, then I'd recommend running at 400Mhz FSB (1600 effective) and lowering your CPU multiplier to be set at 8 (so your CPU runs at 3.2Ghz and not 3.8Ghz which would need lots of voltage and timing tweaks). Using the correct memory divider will mean you are running at full 1600Mhz memory.
