any help please
Re: how to update bio in acer m5100 desktop?
Okay, so you would like to update your bios. Good that you would like to do this. Everyone should know how to do it I can help you. The bios update file you download is not an iso. It is a zip file containing an update utility and a BIOS image file, which is a raw binary file, also called a BIN file, recognized by some image burners as an image file, so I can see the confusion.
However, I have made an ISO for you out of these files. I will give you step by step instructions to update you bios.
1. Download the file at the following link:
http://opencyberinfo.com/biosupdate.iso
2. Burn it using which ever burning application you have. I will assume you have one since you tried to burn a disc earlier. You MUST not just burn the iso as a file to the disc. you must select image burn mode, or whatever it is called on your burning software.
3. Set your CD drive as bootable in your BIOS
4. put your disc that you burned from the image you downloaded in in your drive and boot from it. It will boot in as MS-DOS. Once you are at the A: Drive prompt (A:\>), type:
5. You should now be able to access the AWDFLASH utility. Type:
and press enter
6. in the field labeled File name to Program, type:
7. Press enter.
8. It will ask you if you want to save the bios. with a y/n prompt type n and the machine should do the rest.
Good luck. Please post any questions you have for me.

Re: how to update bio in acer m5100 desktop?
sorry. This is an error on my part. I originally told you that you should type y, and then I edited the post to day than you should type n. Try typing n, and see if that works.
edit: no, you do not have to type code select all. "code" is just a notification, and "select all" just highlights the text. you just need to type what is in the box.
