You can always try setting the switch in Cut-through mode instead of Store-and-Forward

Unmanaged switch, and I believe default is already cut-through. Again, the deficiency is with Windows and not with the hardware. XP specifically as Vista doesn't seem to have this problem, albeit it does have a plethora of others.
